If it is TJ, than I will support him. I can see a way he could be successful at ISU...
...Few are trashing Otz. They’re trashing JP’s process. Why is that hard to understand?
.... It’s generally not good when those with authority feel they won’t be held accountable.
I haven’t read all this thread so maybe this has been mentioned but this just seems like a convenient, even lazy, hire.
Also there have been rumors that this was a done deal a month ago. Well, let’s just be positive and see what shakes out.
This kind of sums it up for me tonight. All that matters is that we hire the right person. JP is accountable for that and his instincts have proven valuable in the past. .... JP obviously feels like he is the man for the job strongly, assuming this is actually confirmed.
Is everyone in Ames best friends with TJ?
Agreed...quite frankly, if he even implies there was an exhaustive search...that's a lie. And his credibility takes a big hit.Even if he doesn't bother to reach out to those guys, he at least needs the plausible deniability that TJ was the best Iowa State can do. I understand his ties to the university and his previous recruiting success as an assistant, but his resume as a HC has him in the running for exactly one job, and it's the one being selected by his friend. If Pollard doesn't get the basic idea that he needs to have the narrative that it was an exhaustive search that ended up with TJ as the best fit at the bare minimum, I worry about the future.
Fred has praised TJ’s coaching and has said “he’s very good with the X’s and O’s. This is for all of you that doubt his ability to coach.
link?Las Vegas paper.
“Kaluma is exploring other options, per a person with knowledge of his recruitment. Syracuse, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Texas, Arkansas, Southern California, Texas A&M and Kansas were his other finalists.”
Some of you need to make a lot more money and donate a lot more money so you can be involved in these decisions more. JP doesn’t care that you don’t think it’s a good choice. If he wins no one will care, if he doesn’t then that will clearly be on JP...but that is the point of his job. I guarantee he isn’t losing sleep. And, since all of you that are upset have absolutely no say, I suggest you accept it is what it is and support the school and program. It will work or it won’t. If it doesn’t then you can come out against retaining him but ******** now accomplishes NOTHING except to make our fan base look like trash.
Did you expect him to publicly say something negative? Not sure what to make of anything yet but I don’t see that holding much weight.Fred has praised TJ’s coaching and has said “he’s very good with the X’s and O’s. This is for all of you that doubt his ability to coach.
No we don't. We are not entitled to anything regarding this. This kind of sums it up for me tonight.
I am looking forward to more of a full explanation of how this worked out. Atleast partially. I think us fans deserve that.
Don't forget MichiganI hope he stays right the hell out of Chicago. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, JC, Prep. There’s a kid 20 blocks north of Hilton we need to get.
He bragged up prohm too.Fred has praised TJ’s coaching and has said “he’s very good with the X’s and O’s. This is for all of you that doubt his ability to coach.

Your **** is tiresome.there’s a bunch of ******* coaching savants on this board. EVERYONE knows a good “X’s and O’s“ coach when they see one because they rode bench on their Varsity HS team as a Senior.
Your **** is tiresome.
