I, for one, am shocked that Clonedude has a pessimistic outlook on a topic!

Please don't quote him. That's the Achilles heel of the ignore list.
Here we go again...... yawn.
You guys are like when your wife/girlfriend ask you for your opinion on their new ugly dress they just bought and you truthfully tell them you don't like it. And then they get mad at you for saying it's ugly.
These message boards are for opinions. But only kool aid drinking responses are welcome I guess. If you are honest in your responses you get ridiculed. I guess I should say that Jack Trice Stadium is perfect and it's the best stadium by far in the country, right? Got it.
And don't say I'm always negative, because that isn't true. I've said time and time again that I absolutely LOVE the indoor practice facility, the new football only building, etc. I also am excited to see the offense this year in football as well. Now the defense scares me to death, but hey, as I said, I'm going to tell you what I feel. Sorry.

Count me down as being a fan of Jack Trice. I actually went to a game at Kinnick last season for the first time and wasn't impressed. Sure, it was nice outside but it didn't live up to all the hype that I had heard over the years. I will grant you that the exterior brick and façade is cool looking, but that's about it. The bathrooms are small and the walkways/stairs to go up to your seats are narrow and fairly tight to maneuver through. The seats and rows are packed so close together that I felt like I was almost sitting on top of the person in front of me.
The actual game atmosphere wasn't any better than what you have at Trice and it only seemed marginally louder due to the end zones being enclosed. The student section was weak and anemic compared to what we have. I also wasn't that impressed with the content on their jumbotrons and the music selection was pretty 'meh' as well. I bought a soda at one of the concession stands and they don't even offer a lid for the cup. How do you not have lids? It wasn't a case of them running out, they plain just didn't have any. So then I had to navigate through the narrow aisles and uneven steps back up to my seat without spilling my lidless drink. Mind you I'm fairly buzzed at this point because that's the only way I can handle this many Hawk fans at once.
Don't even get me started on the lackluster tailgating, poor parking options and ridiculous traffic just to get back to the interstate so that I can get the hell out of that town. I'll pick JTS any day of the week over that place.
TL;DR version: Kinnick sucks balls.
After looking at it, it is clear that the pressbox needs to go and a press/suite tower similar to Tech/Purdue/Iowa/MSU needs to go up. The expanded stadium only makes it look smaller. Hopefully Big 12 money will address this shortly.
The only real demand for more space is coming from media, and they don't pay the bills.
Ha ha- good point! But I'd imagine more suites would be a major part of any new hypothetical expansion/construction, no?

The Athletic Dept needs to reach out to alums high up in Fortune 500 companies then. Every other school is able to do this. Every excuse in the world gets voided when I see Texas Tech, Baylor, Okla State, and K-State doing far more to their stadiums than ISU. ISU is bigger than all of those schools and has a much broader alumni-base that is untapped.
And who will be our Boone T Pickens?
When do we get a law school to pump out rich lawyers like Baylor?
When do we get oil money like Texas Tech?

Kansas State has found enough donors to fill 5 levels of suites and two club sections despite having 80% of their alumni base two or more hours away. Oh, let me guess, wheat money. This fanbase is way too good at making excuses.
