For those like me who had technical difficulties at ESPN+, you can get a full refund as I did through chat or calling by help.espnplus.com Letting them know they have also destroyed college football and upset a fan base that sells out 61,500 in football and 15,000 in basketball was a nice side benefit.

Safe to assume no other ISU games will be on it this year? I got it for today’s game, but don’t want to hassle with cancelling and restarting if we play on it again

I’m sure the CSR making $13/hr you complained to will relay your complaints to the ESPN execs.

I also got a refund. I would refrain from complaining about ESPN ruining college football.

I do think it is possible that ESPN/ABC/Disney will notice if enough people call in and complain. I used to work for one of the large satellite providers (well removed from technical support) and they definitely noticed high call volumes to technical support (and it seemed the cost of staffing technical support for those was significant to them so they really would prefer to not have things happen that cause a bunch of people to call in). I'm not sure this would do much for ISU, but maybe some exec figures out there are a lot of people that care about ISU and are willing to pay (at least if they manage to show the full game).

Bro it’s like $7 just eat the cost.

I am in an international law firm and have a loose understanding of business. You’re right, it’s way more productive personally to take the time to make additional posts like this instead of taking the time to get the refund. For me though, it’s not about the money, it is about making your voice heard. If it is just me that does so, it won’t be an issue but if half the people who signed up today just to watch this game do the same thing it will be noticed and the chat transcripts that are recorded might even be noticed by a middle manager who lets an upper manager know.

Call centers are straight revenue destroyers. They cost a **** ton and bring in nothing. Gotta have them but also can’t bloat them.

help.espnplus.com Crazy to me how ESPN’s technical blunder gives us a freak chance opportunity to make our voice heard and people criticize the mere fact I posted the opportunity to benefit Iowa State. Not thin skinned, just don’t have time for that BS. And frankly, Janny, I have usually enjoyed your posts. But whatever, I’m 40 and over the hill I guess?

Hey man, don't get me wrong, get your refund. Speak your mind. It's probably a great release, but that's all it is. Nobody's going to be reviewing those chat logs for complaints about how ESPN did the Big 12 dirty.
For one, it's not like you were even chatting with someone from ESPN. They're going to use a third party for all of the support on a streaming service, like that. So even if it did get to a manager, it's not going to be an ESPN manager.
Second, service calls like that get categorized and catalogued when they are resolved. That's how the data is consumed. I guarantee you there is a resolution category called "Refund due to technical difficulties". I doubt there's one called "Refund due to technical difficulties and anger about ESPN'S role in breaking up the Big 12".
At best, you're going to have an "other" category where the CSR could type in all of your other thoughts, but given the choice between doing a bunch of typing and clicking "Refund due to technical difficulties" which do you think the CSR making little money and taking call after call after call is going to pick?

So, like I said, I'm sure it felt good to get it off your chest, and there's value in that, but if you think anyone at ESPN is going see your words, much less care about them, well I'm sorry. That's just not how it is going to happen.
