by first visit, was he talking about his first visit in general, meaning it was his first of the 5 official visits he gets and Ames was the first one, or was he insuating that he would be back to Ames again.

But either way, I'm not sure what answers you expected to get. None of us are this player, so how in the hell are we supposed to know what he meant when talking about his 'first visit'. We all read the same tweet.

Let's all be honest here, we're ISU, so would a verbal commitment right now really mean that much? I actually commend the kid for not committing to us if he wasn't "all in" yet, and was just trying to hold a spot down somewhere until a better offer came along.
In basketball, that actually carries weight. Just because one kid was easily persuaded to leave ISU to follow an assistant to Cal doesn't automatically mean that we're the ISU of GMac.
Absolutely yes. It's rare for a player to verbal in basketball to a school and not sign there unlike football. Yes I know it happened twice to us recently
Especially since he's a PG. It's like QB commits for football. Yeah, I know we just had our 2019 QB split, but that was sort of expected due to his super early commitment.
