Do college level punters have special shoes for that? Because kicking a frozen football really, really sucks in tennis shoes.
It's barely a shoe. It's thin like a wrestling or ballerina shoe.

Probably more like saying Iowa State is in Boston since Sydney and Auckland are over 1300 miles apart.cold can be like heat. Iowa heat is different than arizona heat.
and yeah, new zealand and Australia are culturally and geographically similar, but it's like people saying we're from Nebraska.

I have a new respect for cold weather punters then.
Better define cold weather. Iowa cold is not the same as Australia cold or San Francisco cold.
Not really. I get that you are looking for a midwestern locale for the similar culture but Nebraska is close. Most people have no idea that you are going to likely be spending more time in a plane to fly from the coast of Australia to New Zealand then you are when flying from Des Moines to either coast.i think the example went over your head![]()
Their winter, you mean?I went to Australia in July in college, their summer. We were walking around in shorts and t-shirts, with temps at probably at least 70 during the day. But the locals were in parkas and stocking caps. Nights in the 50's, so it did get kinda cold.
We found it funny for some reason.
lol it's not a wrestling or ballerina shoe. most kickers/punters kick in soccer cleats
I'd say it's more like saying People from Oahu are from The Island of Hawai'i![]()

Yeah, I get that. And the point I was making is that if you want something similar you'd better pick somewhere a lot farther away than Nebraska because if we weren't talking about the huge expanse of the Pacific Ocean the two countries wouldn't even be in the same region. It wasn't a comment on distance, it was a comment on similar cultures being confused for one another to people unfamiliar with the region.
