Wow, Ok I would guess if ND tried that, then the ACC would say "see you in court," immediately kick the other ND sports out of the conference, and then sue ND, for 100's of millions of dollars, for breach of contract. While also retaining ND GOR for at least a certain number of games.
The SEC has all the money in the world also, so why did they just not buy OU and UT out of the B12 and start them playing now in the league? Simple, the SEC was not willing to pay the buyout and then risk not having the rights to broadcast OU and UT games, even if they are in the conference.
The schools mean a lot less than their media rights, because that is how the conference is going to make their money, by putting those same schools on TV. But if those schools cannot be shown on the SEC channels or CBS then ESPN, their value is only the few more fans they bring to the stadiums when they are on the road.
