Iowa State isn't even close to as strong as it has ever been.
I'm beginning to wonder if the sun never rises in your world:smile:
Iowa State isn't even close to as strong as it has ever been.
Wow. That is not true.
How can any of you with a straight face argue that the current program is in the same realm or "as strong as it has ever been"? That is an insult to your 2000 and 2001 teams.
It isn't like Iowa State is going to be all that much better next year than they are now. You lose your two best players and, sorry, the transfer from Northern Illinois/Marquette and Clayton Custer aren't going to make you a top level team. You are looking at another upper mid-level Big XII finish next year and a 5-6 seed at best in the tourney.
I'm down with this... Someone want to make a sweet Ejim avatar for me?

How is that not true? You aren't even on the same planet that you were in 2000 and 2001. Not even close.
Your program lost 12 games last year and will lose at least 8 or 9 this year. Those teams lost 5 and 6 games each, so your current program is losing roughly twice as much over the same 2 year period. You have a nice home team this year and are mediocre to bad on the road. The 2000 and 2001 teams were flat out good and top level teams.
Please ban this man, totally trolling.
Those were better teams, but the program was not as strong. Those teams were because of Fizer and Tinsley, and didn't have nearly the underclass men talent and stability that the program does now.
Mangino seems more like a "Back in the high life again" type of guy.
For the love of god, can someone please shut this thing down. You idiots make Dennis Rodman look like Stephen Hawking.

Does anyone on these boards actually ever discuss anything or answer a direct question?
How is the program "as strong as it has ever been"? Explain it and feel free to tell me how your teams are in any way better than your 32-5 2000 team and 25-6 2001 team. You had multiple high level NBA draft picks on those teams.
Someone please explain this.
Well, you might want to actually make a Sweet 16 first, and a much better summation of your program is it is more consistent making the tournament than it has been, but it certainly isn't as strong as ever. Not close. You were an Elite 8 team and a 2 seed, so your current teams aren't even close.
