Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

what is the reason no one is mentioning Kentucky anymore? He let them back in the process very late. Why would he let them in that late in the process if they were not going to be a serious contender?

If it's really down to us and UNLV, why not add the three biggest names in college basketball on your list? I think that's the main reason Kentucky made it

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

What have we learned this week? Media people thrive on controversy and professionalism is not the first order of the day.

How about we just see what Vaughn thinks, eh? Won't be long now.

I get that the media, especially Jerry Meyers or Adam Zagoria, are not the end-all when it comes to this stuff. However, doesn't it make anyone feel skeptical when you realize that there have been plenty of negative signs since Tuesday, but not once have you seen anyone tweet, "I'm hearing from sources that it's Iowa State." There hasn't been anything like that.

I'm certainly not giving up, but I also know how to do the math.

Pretty sure both of those guys switched to ISU from someone else on the 4th and then to UNLV on the 5th. That tells me that they are guessing. They may know something, they may not. But the track record is not impressive, and there have been no new actual Vaughn articles since about Tuesday (I google it about three times a day). Just tweets.

I won't be shocked if him and his handler go overseas for a year of "pro" ball and then enters the draft. He has a unique situation where he already has somebody looking out for him/moving with him, so the ability to move overseas for a year and get paid and not just be an 18 year old kid with no guidance may be beneficial for him, especially if an education is of zero concern.

688 pages - nice work boys. Hope the kid commits - you need a kid like that to go from really good to dominating.

If they really knew anything or had the access to really know anything, they would have known long before now. Not to mention the relationships they have with UNLV and how that equates to placating to the coaches and the fans. WAAAAAYYYYYY to many variables to make a judgement based on less than 140 characters.

Now there, I agree with you. My guess is Jerry Meyers' sources are people around Findlay. Where are Findlay people inclined to think/hope RV goes? UNLV, of course.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

This one kid isn't going to make or break our season next year. This amount of hype for this guy is almost an insult to the players returning/coming in next year. No doubt he has the great potential and could put us on the next level. If he goes to UNLV I wish we could set up a regular season game to play them - we know we won't play them in the tourney because they probably won't make it.

Clean up in Aisle 7. Nasty post reported.

As has been said about 3457 times in this thread, we will be good with or without him, but perhaps better with him. That's not an insult to anyone.

Kansas without Mcklemore last year ends their conference title streak. It's a big deal but it's not the only deciding factor. Us without Kane this year is a big difference too so there are other options. Getting this talent is the key to being a yearly contender though, every top team has top freshmen.

Was it ever confirmed that Fred was suppose to fly out to Vegas after the Okie State game, but got cancelled due to weather?

I confirmed it but that's only my word against anyone else's.

I think that most don't see it the way you are implying it. I think most see RV along side Morris, Thomas, Niang and others and view that group of players in a VERY positive light. I doubt many think he would be a one-man wrecking crew next year.

Depends on what you think by "Make" our season. Sure it won't break our season. However, we get this kid it could REALLY make our season. That is probably why everyone wants him so bad. Because we don't want to be one and done every year in the tourny. We want to be 6 and done. That is what this kid could help us do.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

People paying attention to Jerry Meyer need to stop. He switches his pick with the slightest mention a school.
Vaughn himself tweeted out that if anybody says they know what he is doing they don't.
