Calipari's approach of all freshmen has worked for sure once, and was pretty successful another year, even though they were upset in the tournament. It obviously didn't work last year, and so far its not working so great this year. Not exactly a whole lot of consistency.
However, you can not argue with UK's track record of getting players drafted early and often. At least 4 that were about top three overall, another handful that were lottery, and even more still in the first round.
Some would argue that those kids had the talent to get drafted in those positions no matter where they went to school. This year will be interesting though because, for probably the first time, Calipari has some talent that is not producing up to the level expected out of HS.
The Harrison twins were top 10 rated, but so far look like they are not even lottery picks. Interesting to see how it plays out, and if they return for another year at UK.
If things fall apart this year for UK, then you gotta believe some recruits start thinking that overloading one team with young talent maybe isn't such a great idea.
