Re: Rashad Vaughn

KU fan here...

What do you think the percentage chance that you guys get Vaughn? You feel like the favorite. I would love to see him as a Jayhawk, but with it looking like Selden will be back as a soph., Brannen Greene and Andrew White returning and Kelly Oubre signed, it's not a huge area of need for us.

I'm going to guess ISU has a 40-50% chance. Higher than any other single school, but maybe not a better chance coming here than everywhere else combined, if that makes sense. I'd be a bit surprised if he went to KU due to the personnel reasons stated above.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I just wish he'd choose already. It's getting to the point now where I almost don't care where he goes just as long as this whole thing gets over with.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I know multiple high school seniors who don't know where they're going to college yet. It's kind of a big decision.

That seems reasonable. I haven't really followed this recruitment as closely as some others because we've been kind of spoiled the last couple of years on our wing recruiting that it's not a huge area of need. I would like to see him go to ISU if it's not KU just for conference strength. If you guys can replace Ejim with Nader/McKay alongside Vaughn, that could be a really nice team. Sprinkle in another impact transfer that you guys always seem to get and it's even better.

I didn't decide until February of my senior year of high school and I had friends who waited even longer. But RV needs to decide NOW!!!

Re: Rashad Vaughn

None of us know.....but given this handler thing, late UK interest, fact that the UNC snake is in on him.....I'd be shocked if we got him. No offense to Fred but those guys have a huge history of turning over talent into the NBA.

And you know what....we will be just fine even if we don't get him

Let me partially retract my statement and say that this thread on CF has made his recruitment seem long and drawn out. Daily, this thread keeps getting pushed to the front page for no other reason than to have it there. If people would let it die and only post when actual information comes forth, my thoughts/feelings would be different. Reminds me of a bunch of children asking if they can have something over and over and over and over and over again.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I know regular kids decide late on where they want to go to college, but Vaughn is what, one of 3 kids not to choose a school yet out of the top 100 players?

He can wait as long as he wants but it is unusually late for a person in his position.

But like I said, it's his decision and he can take as long as he wants.

Maybe he wants to see how the season plays out. See if any teams lose players or might lose players to the NBA. He knows that he has a guaranteed spot with us if he wants to commit, so he really has no motivation to make a quick decision.

Of course. All valid points. But he is taking longer than about 97% of players in similar situations to him. Not bad or good or anything, it is just a fact.

You mean if we beat KU three times, all their players will be back?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I also sense a component of hype building on his part. It seems that the past few years there have been a few players that get the extra hype that comes with a late commitment (Wiggins especially). People tend to want you more when there are fewer options out there. My guess is that this is a combination of the above and the wait and see who needs me most, game.
