Obviously Morris, Long, and Thomas will improve as Georges has done and McKay and Nader will have some roles to fill, but with all that said I am not scared with that list. Hopefully Vaughn looks at this and sees that he will have a really talented and mature team to play with if he commits here.

Plus the style of play with Hoiball, sharing the ball being unselfish, working as team, up tempo free style of play, why wouldn't you want to be a part of it.

Playing for Hoiberg would be an honor

We are going to need SDW this year imo ,and I wish we had "invested" more playing time in him earlier. He could be our most complete guard after Kane imo.

I'm right there with you jahfg... Don't know how the bolded could be a thought for anyone so far. If he is the most complete after Kane, wtf is he doing riding pine so much? I'm going to go ahead and agree with CFH on this one, and say that Naz/Monte is "next" with SDW trailing behind.

Could be, as in the future. I know he was not practicing as well earlier in the season, and that is what coaches use to determine early season PT. He is a guy that is talented, but at times just does not "get it". I think he has a good chance to improve in Big 12 play more so than if he were a guy that "gets it", but just is not as naturally talented.

Simply due to his length and quickness, he is a better defender than Thomas, and with experience, better than Long as well. That is half of the equation right there. His handles and ability to drive are just as good, if not better than Thomas. Long is shooting better, but SDW can shoot. It is about decision making right now imo. I do not like our preference to not "invest" time in guys, but we may be forced to if our other guards can not stay in front of their man.

At least at the offensive end, I agree. He actually might be the most well rounded guy we have on offense. The only thing is that's when he isn't against this level of competition.

But when he's Big12 ready, he will be a great weapon to have. Classic example as someone who's not ready as a freshman but a star as a senior.

I think Fred is easing SDW into the flow of the game and allowing him to gain confidence. So far it looks like it is working.

He may want to choose a lesser team where he can better showcase his talents like UNC.

While this was obviously said with a high amount of . I will say that while I'm still crazy excited about Vaughn and really want him to be here, the way this team is playing I'm going to be far from melting down if he chooses another school.
