Re: Rashad Vaughn

RV has his favorite offers to choose from. Pretty simple to make a decision and commit - unless the offers keep getting "upped".

The only ones acting like drama queens in all of this are message board posters.

No kidding. I don't see how he's that big of an attention seeker. He isn't begging on twitter for RT's or anything like that.

This is a multi million dollar decision on who would get him best prepared for the NBA. Id take my time too.

Mississippi State sucks at basketball. Congrats UNLV, you beat a team that TCU beat.

You'd probably choose Baylor.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

To be fair, we would probably react the same way, if Vaughn ended up at unlv or something

Not really the same thing. ISU has a top 25 team and has recruited him for 3-4 years. UNLV was in the conversation after weeks.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Yes, the second time that gopherhole article showed up on here. Wonder if they would say Fred is paying for players if Fred took the gophers job? (OK - I know the answer to that).

If Fred would have taken that job, Vaughn and Travis would have already signed with the gophers.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I agree. While I'd love to have him here, we have to remember we'd only have him for one season. So it wouldn't be a huge loss.

And with all the alleged shady recruiting tactics in college basketball, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him end up at UNLV or a school like Kentucky or North Carolina.

thats just off the top if my head of recent "1 and done" players.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Hes not even down to his 5 yet?

yeeeaaahhh....I'll pay attention this spring to see if he signs. If he does great, if not..oh well. We will still be great next year. Not a chance I'm waiting with baited breath to see what a 17 year old kid does.

Seems like coach dale had a conversation with jimmy chitwood like this....

Yeah I hear ya. I wish RV would have said from the beginning he was waiting to annouce in thel Spring so we didn't have to sit here and wait around.

In all seriousness though, I am waiting to see the final 5...mostly just to see if Minnesota is on it and which blue bloods we have to compete with

RV already stated he was going to be a 1 and done. Don't know if any of those guys said that in high school

There's no way to know for sure if he'll actually be a 1 & done player. He seems like a guy that genuinely likes to put a lot of effort into making the right decision rather than the emotional, gut reaction. Just look at his recruiting process. I'm guessing he wouldn't all of a sudden lose that deliberateness in college.

If after one year, he's projected late 1st round, but feels that he can increase his positioning into the lottery the following year if he works on 1-2 areas of his game, I bet RV would come back.

Yes, he has said many times that he would prefer to be 1 and done, but I think it was on his ask.fm page last spring, he also said if he doesn't feel he is ready, he will stay a second year.

Edit:
Found the entry:

Even though you've said you hope to be one and done, what type of legacy do you want to have at the college level (and if you could only pick one of these two options)--one of the all time greats at that school like Derrick Rose at Memphis or the latest in a line of greats at a storied program?
The only way i will go 1 and done if it feels right or i am ready. im not in any rush to leave college
