Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think RV is going to be a Cyclone. I hear he and his parents love Fred and that a friend of his thinks he's going to choose Iowa State.

If you are wrong I will hunt you down and kill you slowly.

I wonder if that's why the parents urged him to wait on committing to UNC.

I have no idea if that original post is right. I kind of doubt it.

But if we have some hope, it is that the parents have encouraged him to wait. There must be some reason they didn't want him to commit to UNC.

It also now sounds like he will be playing at Robinsdale Cooper High again and not go out east to prep school. That is also good news, IMO.

Naaaaa id hate to have the most overated player in the history of sport be from ISU. I would hate him less however.

The Tar Heel insider troll that was coming here for a while said from his source that Rashad really liked UNC but his parents encouraged him to wait and visit Minnesota under their new coach and ISU because they have a good relationship with Fred and company.
take it for what it's worth, I won't hold my breathe but I will go pee on my neighbors house if we land him :p

Re: Rashad Vaughn

We'd like to think that happens. But...

If that's the criterion for prominence, then players would go to the worst school. Why go to UNC if you could go to ISU? Why go to ISU if you could go to Iowa? Why go to Iowa if you could go to UNI? Why go to UNI if you can go to Drake?

It doesn't work at the "worst" school because no one wants to watch them. It works magnificently at a school with a program that is primed to get national attention if they get a little better and have a coach that everybody likes to talk about. Thus, it works for Rashad Vaughn to come to Iowa State!

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Ask Daniel Orton.
Affiliation with a big name seems to carry a lot of weight.

Logically, I think starring at another school should carry the weight. Practically, they find talent wherever it is anyway, so it doesn't seem to matter.

Blake Griffin seems like he might be an example of what I'm talking about. He goes to North Carolina, Kansas, or Kentucky and he would have been good. He goes to Oklahoma and he is a star.
