also, we have a tension baby gate for the stairs to the basement which we knew isn't great but we're around and keep an eye on him. well he love love love loves to shake stuff. And that gate shakes a bit. So when he's feeling naughty, he tries to go shake that gate. Other stuff like the tv stand, we move him away, he stays away. But the allure of that gate............he got over to it the other day and I started to say no and walk toward him. He saw me coming and stood up to shake that gate like it was his last chance and laughed so gleefully and naughty. DH said the next morning he did the same thing but as DH came over, he didn't even bother standing up, stayed on knees to get extra shake time before daddy removed him. Oh he is so naughty but it's so damn cute. Also dangerous, but crazy cute. We are in much trouble.
My cats are mostly scared spitless of kids of all sizes. They tend to hide when we have anyone under the age of 15 in the house.Toddling would be dangerous at your place. Just sayin'.
I would currently be eligible for this run, much to the chagrin of my girlfriend.
On the way to Colorado for the annual hiking trip with my dad. If all goes well I'll add 14'er number 6, Missouri Mountain, to my list of summits. This drive isn't doing much to convince me that the Earth isn't in fact flat, though.
We've been on I80 since Stuart and just got on I76 where it Y's in Colorado. Nothing but corn fields and cattle ranches. Don't get me wrong, it's all beautiful but I'll be pretty happy to see some mountains here soon.
That'll start to change once you get to about Fort Morgan. If you've never been at Fort Morgan do yourself a favor and DON"T stop. Not sure how anyone lives in that town the way that beet processing plant stinks.
I took 385 south to I70 when I drove out to Colorado Springs. Some massive ranches and not much else.
We took a spring break trip to Arizona a couple of years ago. The I-80 stretch through Nebraska was the only stretch we allowed the kids to watch a movie. They didn't complain or even really miss it the rest of the trip, but that stretch through Nebraska just seemed cruel to put them through.
I do. I didn't realize it was in color!! We watched it on a B & W TV. I love how just their mouths move.
We had B&W as well. Got our first color TV Christmas 1972.

That was Syncro Vox technology that they used for the mouths. It enabled them to produce those very cheaply.
Edit: I had to look up syncro vox. No way I knew that off the top of my head.
You have NO idea how many times I made the trip from Washington to Texas across much of that same flat-ass territory. No DVD's back then. We read a lot of books. Sang songs with my mother (four-part harmony...pretty cool, actually). We played cards. We WHINED....
