Hear the owls?Went for a 2 mile walkabout around 10 pm. Spent too much of the day sitting on my ass in the house because it was so humid out and it was last call to get something moving. Observation: My hood is very dark and quiet after 10, saw nobody.

Thanks for that reminder of "threes". Had my sewer line plug up Friday. Thankfully I caught it before it backed up anymore than a small puddle in the laundry room. Got some sticker shock on the cleanup cost. Yikes. I still have this pre-COVID and pre-greedflation mindset on what things cost.
That was #2. Need to replace internet modem and maybe change providers. Ethernet hard wire plug-in from it to den and old desktop died and Firestick also croaked so not sure if I am on two or three for things breaking. Old Galaxy phone battery is bulging so maybe that's #3.
All the rain leads to lots of standing water which leads to lots of mosquitoesPlanned a canoe camp this week in northern WI. It's only a 30-40 ish minute paddle so backcountry lite.
1st night was going great (except for biting flies) until the wind stopped and the sun went down.
Then it was millions of mosquitoes all over the place. Worse I've experienced. Then they were still there in the morning along with biting flies.
Instead of spending the rest of the time finding ways to keep them off (and my dog) I left that morning and threw down for a hotel and have still been able to go out adventuring in spurts.
Makes me ready for fall.

Back before me my friends became family guys and abandoned canoeing with me, I still would only agree to boundary waters treks in the spring or fall. Just nope to those ******* biting bugs.
Edit: Worst mosquitoes I ever experienced, houseboating on Lake of the Wood in July, JFC!![]()
