I saw a license plate yesterday that had a 2019 sticker on it yet. There was a plate frame around it which was covering it up so you had to be right behind it to see. Didn't know what year it was at first, all I could see was the color, had to look it up because I couldn't remember the last time Wisconsin had a green sticker.

If you're ever in the mood to see a truly dreadful movie watch anything written and directed by James B. Thomasson

We’re in DSM airport and I’m seeing people in Hawkeye clothing everywhere. Even shared a shuttle with family of four all decked out. Looked up schedule - they’re at home today for 11 am game. Lordy. What is up with these people?
We are wearing ISU shirts so counteracting it somewhat.

Migration. They are hawks after all.

Was following a car, super slow in traffic jam yesterday, and noticed it's plates had expired in June 2023. Reminded me of when I lived in St. Louis Park with their ******* police department (quite the reputation). Got up to go to work and my car, parked on the street, had a ticket for expired tabs. The tabs had expired at midnight. The ticket was written at 1215 AM. Insult on top of insult was that I had the tabs but hadn't put them on, they were lying on the front seat of the car.

Working in Omaha, I came out to my car after work and realized I had a headlight out. Stopped by the auto parts store and bought a bulb. Had to drive home to Lincoln. I would need a socket wrench to change the bulb, which I didn't have, plus didn't want to chance getting the dress pants messed up leaning on the car. It wouldn't be completely dark until I exited the interstate, so I wasn't tremendously worried about my ability to see with just the one headlight. But I just get past Gretna, and I get pulled over because you could tell that a headlight was out because of my daylamps. The bulb is on my passenger seat with a receipt. Officer gives me a fix-it ticket, and I have to show up at a police station within <x> days to show it's fixed. Burned my lunch hour doing that the next day.

Still salty about it over 13.5 years later.

Essentially had the same thing happen to me. Was working at night and driving home in the morning. I pulled over and opened the glove box to get the registration and there were my tags. I opened the window and was holding the tags out as he walked up. I said I assume this is why you stopped me. He let me put the tags on right there and let me go home

Hearing the pitter patter of light rain on my flat roof. Not really forecast. Not going to mount to much but still taking me by surprise. Been a while since it rained and forecast for the next week is dry. September was 1/10 of an inch.

Went to have breakfast at the only bar around here that serves breakfast around here. Everyone there was a regular. I kind of felt out of place. No I didn't stay for the meat raffle.

Good problems to have as a program. Reasonable well placed tickets are non-existent it seems, but it also looks like we may have already attended our last Cyclone game for the year.

On a related note if anyone knows they won't be attending football or basketball games this year let me know!

Daughter was there at that time roughly to fly to Nashville for a student conference.

We got off the plane in Denver and were looking at a menu when a woman told M she liked his shirt and asked if we live in Ames. Turns out she lives in Nevada, Iowa.
Good Lord, you went to Denver. Apparantly my wife's niece (big hawk family) was probably on the same flight. Her fiance is a brother to Enyi's "friend". The wife's family is dumb enough to wear hawkeye clothes in that situation. The Good Lord is due to her probably doing something like that.

Haven't had the old "You gave me an A- but said I did well" email for a while. Sigh.
