Tiger update:

I was at work in Ames so my mom was bringing her to vet med from Nevada at 9am. I get a call about 8:40 from my mom that she couldn't find her.

I left work to go home to find her but stopped by vet med to explain situation and went to my car to find my mom calling me back that she found her and was on the way so I went back in to let vet med know.

So we were 15 minutes late so I went back to work and later texted if they had gotten to an exam room.

My mom then texted with great news that it didn't look too serious. Tiger's issue was that her "backside" glands were full so her cries were because she was unable to poop. They expressed the glands and got her to poop.

I'd heard of expressing glands in dogs but not cats.

She has a follow up in a couple days but it looks like she is going to be fine.

I had to take a grad level stats class. It sucked every bit as much as the term "grad-level stats" implies. Some non-tradition, student dude who did a couple tours in the Middle East and was going back to school tag teamed it some with me. Helped a ton.

An old friend of mine died yesterday. He'd fought a running battle with cancer for over 20 years. His Facebook wall was the source of many of the dad jokes I've occasionally posted in here.

Here's the last one...from a couple days ago.

I'm going to miss seeing his daily jokes.
Cancer sucks. Grieve well.

Here's an excerpt from his obit that let's you know he was a good man:

"Joey traded in his black and gold for cardinal and gold once Jake enrolled at Iowa State University in 2003. Joey loved following Iowa State University sports, and had season tickets for the Cyclones football games for almost twenty years, attending games until it was no longer possible for him due to his health. It is fitting that that final Iowa State football game that Joey watched was a victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes."

I can't find my previous post about a woman that I work with that was attacked by one of the red neck neighbors pit bulls. After the dogs were taken they got more and one attacked one of her horses. Once again the police were called and the dogs taken away.
Last weekend these rednecks had some sort of large picnic. They have since gotten more pit bulls, Two children attacked, one child lost an arm and the other child is dead.

I wonder if they'll finally take some real action against these people

FYI, They get the pit bulls to train them to fight.

Mine was 5 freaking credits. 4 classes a week and a 2 hour lab. My kids took a 3 credit class. Getting softer.
Tried to do the 5 credit stat class and dropped at the deadline. Took a summer stat class at Wayne State in Nebraska and was a complete joke.
