I ever done quite a few rides and the towns on this year's route are a perfect mix, IMO.

Why would it go through the Metro area every year? More cars and traffic density to mess things up both for Ragbrai and the area. I think maybe 3 or 4 years ago it came thru Slater, Bondurant,Altoona etc. what was wrong with that.

2 years ago it ran 90 miles south of there. Boycott it if you must I'm sure your absence will be noted.

Wasn't clear lake an overnight town that year? And it's already back again??? How can clear lake be 90 miles south of itself?

Pumped for this. I'll be doing Charles City on in.

So basically I'm missing all the flat days and riding the hilly ones. Also, assuming that if the Cresco to Waukon route avoids Decorah (it's Nordicfest that weekend), it almost HAS to go through Festina. Home of the Zipper. Open when legal. There will be naked people.

Three years ago, Clear Lake was a pass-thru town on the way to Mason City.

I'm curious how they're going to get 40 miles out of Waukon to Lansing. Guessing maybe they'll come through Harper's Ferry and Waterville or something.
