It pains me to say this, but we desperately need a QB IMO.

After watching Vandenberg last night, if he were on our team, I'd start him. Right now we desperately need someone that can get the ball to our receivers on time and in stride... quickly. I'm not impressed at all with AA or Tiller's passing ability. Both can run just fine, but our offense lacks one thing right now big time.... a passing game.

Not having a passing game is killing us in this offense that Herman runs. ARob is over 1,000 yds, but we get virtually nothing through the air.

I truly believe that the QB position should be wide open next year. Whoever can get the ball out quickly and to the WR's accurately and with zip on it should be the starter... including Jared Barnett if he's good enough. Our passing offense is anemic right now.

could not agree more, AA is a great young man but he is not a Blg 12 QB, hope Herman is considering going after a talented JC

What a ridiculous ball-watcher post this is.

If you watch the receivers when they don't have the ball, they are very rarely getting separation to get open.

VanDeBerg would not fit Herman's system at all. You've got to have a running threat at qb in his offense, otherwise those read plays don't work and arob isn't even close to being as effective.

You can't assume that a pro-style quarterback will work just as well in a spread.

What we NEED is some wide receivers that can learn to separate a little from the defensive back. AA will be just fine then.

And for what it's worth, Tiller is NOT the answer.

Here is how I rate our receiving corps:

1. Arob.
2. Franklin.
3. Catlett.
4. Hamilton.
5. Jake.
6. Money.
7. All others.

Now since we have not thrown too many real passes downfield, I may be wrong.

The passing game needs to get into gear, expecially for a bowl game.

Arob cannot be the whole offense and expect to win. He needs others to help.

I've said before I think we need a HS QB recruited in this current class, redshirt him next season and just pound the playbook into his brain then let him compete the following season with Tiller for the starting job. Need a kid that can pass out of the pocket more than use his legs to make plays.

He is struggling yes, but it was painfully obvious on MANY MANY timing plays that Williams, Darks, and Lenz were getting jammed at the line and after that AA would scramble.

I don't get how people can look at this group of WRs and think it is a great Big 12 group of WRs. We have nobody that would start and maybe play for other Big 12 teams other than Hamilton (and of course an injured Money).

SJ season total on yardage (if you include penalties against himself) has now gone to -8 yards and 1 fumble for the SEASON.

A QB just doesn't suddently get bad. It's called taking away our only field strechers (RJ) and Money.

This is such a stupid thread....you must be just like the guy in section B yesterday who started yelling for Tiller because AA had the throw the ball away after running for his life because the O-line gave him no time. AA is a solid QB who is in his 3rd system in 4 years and is just coming off a hand injury. Funny, I didn't see any of these threads after the KU and Baylor games.

Ha, I'm in Section B too and I think I heard that guy. Around row 20 or so?

completely agree. This is ridiculous. For one thing yesterday our oline was dominated most of the game. For another none of our recievers can get of jam coverage. Put those together nd it makes it tough for the qb. AA will be the starter next year. After that, who knows. I expect we will see great progress with the offense next season.

Exactly. And it was going on in the stands too. The offensive line was simply not good yesterday and our receivers have not been helping our QB all year. If you can't see that, there is no point in discussing this with you. AA made a mistake on the interception by not getting the ball out earlier (Darks was open) and then he threw it short. Otherwise he played a solid game.

I really wish we could start over at WR - overhyped and not producing. Hopefully another year in the system and guys line Sedrick barely seeing the field will wake them up.

My only question was yesterday it seemed like on every third and long we had we left AA in the pocket and CU would bring an extra man and AA would not have time to throw. Why didn't they roll him out more often and give him a run pass option?

The ironic thing is that Tiller is the one who throws the ball away, and smartly so, in order to avoid a sack and we praise him for it (as we should). AA usually takes the sack and this time he did the smart thing and this guy was calling for Tiller? Funny!

Have we forgotten that Arnaud hurt his hand and it probably still isn't completely healthy? I don't know about you, but he looked pretty solid against Army, KSU, KU & Baylor and he seemed to be improving steadily prior to the injury.

I don't see as many games, being only able to watch online.

But from the ones I do see, I don't think you can lay it all on the receivers. Arnaud/Tiller also miss many times in a game with badly thrown balls that could be gains. I do think they are decent QBs and certainly aren't dragging the team down. Its probably more accurate to say they are at the same level as the rest of our team...a middle of the pack BCS team that plays to its potential (doesn't underachieve). I'll take that over the last two years any day.

Bingo, except I'm not sure I would have Jake that high. Over the last few weeks it must have gotten out that he can't get off the press coverage because he has really struggled getting off the jam. There were many instances last week that I don't even think he went forward at all.
