Saying Cotton-Moya has no chance to play in the NFL because of transferring is ridiculous. Would it potentially hurt what round he was to go in, sure, but to say his dream would be over is laughable.
Showcasing himself at ISU is his only realistic shot at getting drafted. I think he could play in the NFL, but a transfer would likely mean going the undrafted FA route. Those guys are long shots.

Transferring would mean he would only have one more year of playing. Cotton-Moya's best shot at being drafted, is to stick it out and for Iowa State to have success and for Cotton-Moya to lead a strong defense which leads to strong team recognition and All Big 12 first team defense for himself.

A lot of it comes down to Pro Day and Combine results. Would hate to see Cotton-Moya transfer.

So is D'Vario transferring or not? It went from 30 posts about him leaving to one person saying he isn't and everything stopped.

Because people take a podcast by a former player and don't really understand what was said and then turn everything around without actually thinking about DM situation and realizing...oh wait..he's a SR this year so would lose his final year..lol. No hes not leaving. Woody tweeted afterword that he was mistaken and thought DM was a senior. End of discussion.

Beyerball says that the announcers were confused as to what class D'Vario was in. That is not the way I heard it. They were announcing who would definitely be gone. Bundrage was mentioned and it was said he would not get an additional year. Arnaud said 'D'Vario's back". And then Woody said "D'Vario's gone." Arnaud said "No, he'll be back" and then Woody said, "D'Vario's gone." Arnaud said "He is?".

So it makes me wonder if maybe Woody knows something. Woody then said that the only real area of concern offensively is the interior positions of the Offensive Line. That we are just fine at the skill positions.

The Juco OL that just committed is a mauler at OG. Absolutely huge.

I just listened, It sounds as though Woody simply thinks Montgomery is graduating/ eligibility over. I would have expected the same response had Austen said Bundrage.

That has to be more of the exception to the rule. And Irving was a really unique and rare size.

It's not though. NFL, like the NBA, will find the talent no matter where it's at. The only slight advantage of being drafted late, as opposed to trying to get on with a team as a free agent, is some teams are slightly more hesitant to release a draft pick.

I would have thought that someone with Woody's knowledge would know better than that. Woody knows our roster inside and out and he is confused about D'Vario's eligibility left??

His year in school practically jumps out at you on the depth chart.

Why do people think you have to play at Iowa State to get drafted? Scouts get paid to find players everywhere, and that includes outside of P5 or even D1. If you've played football and have NFL talent, the NFL finds you. You don't make rosters based on draft pick, you make it based on yourself. It happens every year a late round draft pick doesn't make the team yet someone picked up undrafted the same year does.
