I feel like when you watch us play you can see the lessons TJ learned from the previous coaches TJ worked under.

McDermott: defensive toughness and rebounding.

Hoiberg: offensive spacing and flow.

Prohm: ?
Prohm: how to be a nice guy

Sadly I like self. Suck for him we can all pay players now
He's always been complimentary towards Iowa State and any team that stomps them. I've never hated him for any reason other than being Kansas' coach. He and TJ had what from the rafters looked like a great interaction before the game.

It’s so apparent now that much of their success is attributed to the adidas cheating. Even playing field now that everyone can pay players.
In the 3 seasons since NIL became legal he's got 2 conference championships and a national title.

I had the experience of being in the media room after KU lost a game to DePaul (many years ago) and Bill Self entered the media room very calmly, answered every question respectfully and thanked DePaul for bringing KU to Chicago. I get that people think he can be slimy but a lot of high profile, long successful college basketball coaches get tagged with that thinking. Bill Self does seem like a genuinely good guy. Seems like he would be a good guy to golf with or hang out with at a backyard cookout. He wants to win every game...but he also knows there are lessons that are learned in losing. I gotta believe he will use what he learned from last night to make his team better. Feb 3 is a long way away...but should be fun!

That was when NIL was in it's infancy and schools were still figuring things out. Now that teams have established collectives and strategies, they are falling short.

Who was bill referring to when he said the guy that didn’t start played really well?

Prohm: What not to do.
A wise man learns from others mistakes, a fool from his own. A little harsh but TJ could have just a well learned about things he should not do.

The main complaint KU media has with this Kansas team is that Self really missed on NIL evaluations. Didn’t sign any difference makers other than maybe Mayo.
