Haven’t read the thread, so apologize if it’s been discussed, but…

…Heise is a bad mother ******.

EDIT: Watch the second half again, sans the first 4 minutes. He gets caught in the wash a couple times early in the half, but my lord he flipped a switch. He did the same thing against Marquette.
He's an x factor. Defense specialist. Shot maker. Cabel Grill x's 10

That dude from Dubuque. Escapes at the moment but starts with promsel or something like that was cut. Us old timers remember Kent Hill on the Marble, Armstrong Horton.

Say what you want about Iowa basketball but when I heard Ed Horton kicked half their wrestling team’s ass one night I made him my fav Hok of all time.
Cordell Pemsl? Did he survive that vicious Cyclone Alley kid that must have weighed at least 140 and tried not to fall on him when Pemsl took out his legs? #PrayersforCordell

The CuJo 3 with under 2 minutes to go gives me goosebumps. Just a killer.

And the second half, Heise was guarding either Sandfort or Dix. As mentioned earlier, he got caught a couple times early in the 2nd, but locked both down the rest of the way. Dix was completely out of sorts, and I’m not sure Sandfort ever touched the ball the last 5 minutes. Dominated those tools.

Just finally got to watch. WTF is wrong with Iowa players? The flexing and the pointing to the crowd and the bend over hard clapping. That was my takeaway lol. Embarrassing.

Their bench was embarrassing especially when Gilbert got knocked down in the corner in front of them after he stepped out. Huge cringe moment.

I hope Fran never leaves

Me either. He's the classic high floor low ceiling coach. Never bad enough that he's gonna get fired, but never good enough to actually take them places. Like they're stuck in the level above purgatory. ISU you can see at some point they're going to have an Elite 8/Final 4 run...maybe this year. Iowa may win a game in the tourney. Maybe even 2, but then they're going to run into a team with real athletes with size/skill/quickness and it's over.

We're light years better offensively and that'll drag the defensive numbers down some.

No longer is a forty minute bump and grind show required to gets wins.

This one was all set up to be a Carver special where they kill us with threes AND shoot 40 free throws.

One of those 84-59 specials.

Edit: Their driving out of control flailing the arms game is way, way down.

I never had a doubt that the Cyclones would win this game. The Hawkeyes made it interesting in the 1st half; however, this version of Iowa State can score so I figured The Cyclones were going to wear them down in the 2nd half.

Mentioned by someone else, but I see a little bit of Chris Babb in him too. Never would have thought that 9 games ago lol
The play that opened my eyes with Heise was when he cut baseline vs Marquette, caught that pass from Gilbert and then just elevated and threw it down with authority with 2 hands. I did not expect that explosiveness. He is a great get.

Some of you historians enlighten me. When was the last time the Clones won in Carver and Kinnick in the same year? I am titillated and the sun will shine in glory today on the Cyclone State. I luxuriate knowing that any Hawkeye fan that opens their mouth until September’25 will get a smirk from me and they’ll know.
