Need some help with a good place to get food for a high school soccer team after a game in Ames. Would like something somewhat healthy that we can pick up and go with after our game. We already did Jimmy John's once this week, so looking for something different.
Ideally something we can eat on a bus without too much mess.
Suggestions?

When I think a team of kids, I'd go to Valentinos or Hickory Park. Both are good at hosting large groups. Hickory Park might be cheaper than Jimmy Johns even.

Anything on Duff. I'd go with a burrito place. Just let us know so we don't get in line behind you.

My kids' teams always opt for Pizza Ranch but that doesn't meet your get on the bus with it criteria. However, one time when their bus broke down there, they did just go back in and eat more.

Chipotle/Pepperjax/etc. would be fine, maybe messy on a bus. Panera kind of pricey for kids. Fighting Burrito or Jeff's Pizza might not be that difficult this week with no classes, not sure about school bus in Campustown. Subway seems a lot like going to Jimmy John's.

I say burritos, pancheros would probably be easiest because you could just pull into the best buy parking lot with the bus and walk over.

I don't think Ames has any burrito places on South Duff...or even car shops...

In all seriousness...Valentino's or Hickory Park are the best to sit at. Valentino's will get you in and out faster but it's no Hickory Park.

Burrito = Panchero's. Chipotle sucks.

Hickory Park. Its cheap, and fast, and you can easily order to go if needed.

I'm surprised Bret44 hasn't set up an auto-like for every time someone types "chipotle sucks" or "**** chipotle"

Taco Johns. Might want to roll the windows down though.

Chipotle is superior to pancheros in basically every conceivable way, but for easy access with a bus pancheros would be better. Just apologize to the kids when you pull up and explain why you had to go to pancheros so they don't feel too disappointed.

Chipoitle doesn't mix their burritos, doesn't offer queso, and they hate farmers. Pretty much a terrible place all around.
