Re: OU getting $350-400 miillions renovation

This is good for the Big 12. I want opponents having awesome facilities. Makes the conference look even bigger/better/more legit.

Would be nice to catch up to the Big 10 and SEC in terms of stadium size. However, I'm not sure the states of Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa can really support multiple programs having 80-100k seat stadiums. With Baylor and TCU's recent success and location it still blows my mind they can't get more people at games. I guess their fan base hasn't had time to grow and they have smaller alumni populations though.

ISU stretches a dollar like a rubber band compared to our peers in the Big12, kudos to the Athletic Dept. Wasn't our SEZ 1/3 of the price of OU's end zone?

ISU is poor compared to Iowa. ISU has a handful of large donors but it is small compared to just about every team in our conference. Who is the wealthiest grad from ISU? Do more with less, ISU motto.

Iowa historically had the BOR on their side. That I believe is changing now that ISU's enrollment surpasses Iowa. All about the money.

Lead donors are in the Oil/Natural Gas business. Cannot wait for the renderings, the "fan upgrades" in terms of technology are supposed to rival NFL stadiums. The weightroom/lockerrooms will rival Oregon.

CANT WAIT

It'll be perfect for the jump to the SEC

Just another opportunity for OU to hand Texas another s*** sandwich. Shows you the sometimes money (Texas) can't buy you W's. You still have to have coaches that can actually put the pieces together. That being said, the locker room and meeting areas are top notch.

Explains why our all-time loss/won record against Oklahoma is so abysmal. Those old WWI Memorial stadiums built by our previous conference mates, Oklahoma , Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska are deteriorating. The capacities of those ancient structures that served larger enrollments and fan bases, for the times, is one of the reasons why Iowa State College and Kansas State sucked the hind one for so many years.

Hypothetical, lets say my $300 million dollar check that I write to ISU so that I have rib's approval was legit.

What would ISU (athletics) do with it?

We would get a new locker room that cost 11k per locker lol.

Yeah, that's totally the reason.
