There ya go. Should have known it was one of these threads!

I was motivated to check back thru OTN, after you noted the "where has this been?" recollection ... it jogged my memory of a similar comment regarding that song. :)

Countless times, OTN and other CF music threads provided a portal for me to music I hadn't explored.

I got my "Days" songs in and now I got "Day" songs! Most of these are somewhat random because you guys posted all the more obvious choices.

Great Britpop band that had a few singles released in the US. Best known here for a song on the Clueless soundtrack (Alright), and Pumping on Your Stereo, which I posted for a different theme. This song is much more laid back and soulful. I love it.

Supergrass - Late in the Day

And an absolute classic from Bill Withers. My 4 year old likes this one because it's in the movie "Secret Life of Pets".
Wikipedia fun fact: The song is notable for Withers's sustained note towards the end, which, at 18 seconds long, is one of the longest ever recorded on an American pop song.

Bill Withers - Lovely Day

An understated offering from a band best known for rocking out. Writing and Lead Vocals by their guitarist.

System of a Down - Lonely Day

Now let's throw out some hip hop!

A song about back in the day that was released so long ago (1994) that the song in itself is nostalgic

Ahmad - Back in the Day

And finally (unless I find more) we have the only Kid Cudi song I have in my library.

Does this make me hip? I guess this if from an older album (2009) of his, so I'm still behind on the times

I can't believe I missed this one...

It's on Man on the Moon: The End of Day which is an outstanding record. Pursuit of Happiness (with MGMT) is on it too which is probably my favorite Cudi tune. If you've not heard it, check it out.
