A B-52s forgotten favorite (of mine, anyway): Summer Of Love. It shows up on their 1999 hits compilation and was in the 1989 movie, Earth Girls Are Easy, though that particular remix never made it onto the soundtrack.

FYI, I like NIN, but Closer is my all time most hated song from NIN. The way it was overplayed and sensationalized because he said naughty words just ticked me off to no end. I can not listen to that song anymore. Hurt and Head Like a Hole would be two of my picks from the NIN catalogue.

Closer was totally over played but the thing that really ruined it for me was seeing some dirt ball wearing coveralls sing it one night for karaoke. That ***** permanently burned into my brain.

This band got swallowed in the mix of the Seattle Explosion. By the time I heard their stuff, Soundgarden (for example) already was having success with similar sound and I preferred more of Screaming Trees and The Posies territory. But worth a track for this topic.

I only vaguely remember these guys.

They really fell into the same boat as Screaming Trees where they just weren't as marketable as Soundgarden and Pearl Jam with their attractive front men. They made some very good music though.

Listening to Tad just makes me want to listen to Screaming Trees, which is that much better. I think I'll go do that for a while.

"GTR" is just an abbreviation of "guitar". I saw a really short review for a GTR album once "Ttl Sht". I thought it was funny.

The group name is still pronounced as an acronym, though. Aside from the debut single, the rest of the album really was garbage. But I still enjoy that song.
