LSU lost to UCLA#20 Washington just lost to Montana. So I guess today could have been much worse.

DMac played UNI 5 times, with one being a 1 point victory (his last game against them) and one being a 7 point victory.Yeah except Danny Mac would actually blow the doors off UNI like Iowa State always should to fcs schools
Not entirely. Purdy missed a wide open ChaseManning completely forgot about the TE’s in the pass game today. I get that probably wouldn’t happen if Kolar is active, but we need to play our game no matter what. Wasting targets on Scates and Wilson at this point. Also where is Shaw?
Interesting game. Defense looked like it was trying to shake off the muscle it built up over the winter. Slow and sluggish at first. But after that touchdown the old defense showed up. Play calling is always the first go-to complaint. Clearly, they stacked the box. That's when audibles should emerge and receivers need to create separation. Towards the end, it almost felt like CMC was daring the offensive line to create a hole through that wall. Zone reads against a stacked wall, imo, just don't work as well as man up and straight ahead blocking.Doesn't matter who we play, it will either be a nail biter like today or a game like Louisiana last year. Seems like that is the way CMC teams roll in September. I shouldn't be upset considering what ISU used to be and I will always trade a September loss for a conference championship game. But come on......we are ranked in the top #10 to start the year. Let's coach and play like it instead of playing not to lose.
Yes. FCS. But UNI is probably more motivated, definitely had a massive line, and returned what I believe I heard was more players than even Iowa State. So, they had other things going for them which I, previously, didn't think they had. It's not on us, the fans. It's also not a common thing, either, for a team to struggle so badly year in and year out against an FCS school.

True, but we all know those schools don’t have the expectations that we do this yearWashington, Illinois, Georgia Tech, and Vandy all just lost to mid majors. It could be so much worse. At least they won
Even Paul Rhoads blew out UNI twice with far worse teams.Yeah except Danny Mac would actually blow the doors off UNI like Iowa State always should to fcs schools
Can anyone give me a summary of the thread so far? What did I miss while I was at the game and tailgate lots?

Game’s over dude, go back to sleep!
I was disappointed with a couple of things at tryce today:
1) no juicy wiggle?!
2) no sweet Caroline on the PA after the game (yes I know alot hate that)
Any others?
I love the experience... But why stop such a good thing with juicy wiggle?
You’re pompous fuckwad.
Not just week 1 , most games are slow starts by the offense , at least the special teams are giving a longer field for the defense to defend this year.
What will ISU do differently with this roster than last season and before that?Honestly I am of the opinion that MC had us play vanilla offensively for a reason. Didn't want to give Iowa too much to go off of, and really, with the exception of the big chunk gain on a broken play UNI had in the 1st half, they were flailing around offensively all game. Once we had a lead it was over, even if it didn't feel like it. Kolar was out also, and I would imagine that limited the offensive playbook pretty significantly
Uh wut?Oh isn't that cute! There is resident idiot @zuriclone - the most coward of all 'cyclone' fans, calling Cyclone fan stupid!
How's it going @zuriclone - some more overreaction today? Can you get your 12 year old ass out of here?
