Best quote of the day, heard right after the QB fumble in the endzone:

"Someone get Jim Walden the hell out of this stadium."

When he was introduced with Majors and Mac it seemed like he was afraid of the reception he would receive. Glad he got a solid one. The Walden years were right about the time I can remember Cyclone football. He inherited a crappy program and while the records didn't reflect alot of success I always remembered games that at times were highly entertaining even in the rough times. My one major beef will always be why he refused to play Troy as a freshman.

He’s a freshman so I understand the coaches making it simple for him, but that’s getting nearly too risk averse imo.

My guess is that's the default plan when the hands team is in to protect against an onside kick. May want to rethink on a safety kick rather than a regular kickoff but not that big of a deal.

Can you guys imagine how awful it must be to be a Texas Tech fan? The only thing you have to get excited about all year long is 12 days out of the year where you can be hopeful that your football coach will have actually prepped more for the game than prepped his hair and outfit.

I think TacoAdvisor is just pissed he has to go back to Lubbock. I'd want to prolong the argument as long as possible TOO if I had to catch the bus back there.

It was a free kick from a safety, they’re not allowed to onside it there.

Also to note: Milton typically returns punts, not kicks, and this was a kick.

Just to clarify. You're completely fine when a call goes against Iowa State and you lose to Texas???

Once I find a consistent fan base that is fine with being screwed and screwing others, I'm out.

If ISU is going to complain about bad calls against UT. I expect a decent fan base that will admit Big 12 refs screwed Texas Tech.
I saw two relatively talented teams who kept trying to out mistake each other. Its almost as if two freshman quarterbacks were playing. I also saw one team with horrible special teams play, and another with no rush offense. Your team is also dirty resulting in a lot of laundry on the field.

Story kinda sorta related to TTadvisor's annoying complaining . . .

I was working a high school game once where I called holding on a defensive lineman. Guy was frustrated that he kept getting beat (his team wasn't very good) so on one play he just got frustrated, as soon as the ball was snapped, he grabbed an O-lineman by the jersey, both hands, and drug him to the ground intentionally.

So does it ever get called? YES! I've done it myself!

Also I think Uwazirike going down on the first play hurt us quite a bit. He’s a force on the d-line and I think that’s part of why we didn’t get as much pressure today

Also, their O line is pretty good, and we didn’t bring a lot of guys often. I think Heacock liked their chances in making their freshman throw into coverage all day (3 INT’s proves him right).

Hmm, is that a rule change? Because I'm pretty sure you used to be able to after a safety.

Seems strange that Iowa State would put 10 guys up close if they weren't worried about an onside kick.

Agree, and TT is still rooted in Leach ball, which looks to negate blitzing with quick passes. I thought they nailed it in terms of when to bring pressure. Very good plan by the staff and execution by the players.

Here's the last thing I'll say and I'm gone for the day.

If a single Iowa State fan would have simple said yeah "we got a lot more calls than Tech, I can understand their frustration" or "that holding call on Tech's DT was ridiculous" or "that last TD should have been PI on Butler". I would have let everything go and respected Iowa State as a good fan base.

As it stands. Not a single fan expressed sympathy for Texas Tech players, coaches or fans. Now, I hope the Big 12 straight rapes you when you go to Austin. If you would have an ounce of sympathy when the Big 12 screwed another team to Iowa State benefit, I would have sympathy for Iowa State but as it stands, your fan base is terrible and I now have zero sympathy for you. May the Big 12 screw you every single opportunity they get because Iowa State fans have ZERO sympathy when their team is on the winning side of calls.

You've given us a lot to think about. After celebrating the third straight win against your fine, fine team, checking B12 standings for our improving chances to rise to the top, reviewing great bowl destinations and banging our super hot husbands and wives, we're really, really going to reflect on this. Really. Tacos and burritos.

As far as I’m aware, it’s always been that way. Otherwise it would wipe away the advantage of the safety if they could onside. If a team was down one point, 3rd and 20 on their own 1 with 30 seconds left, they could just take a safety, be down three and kick an onside to potentially get the ball in better shape.

The only thing that’s changed fairly recently is you used to have to punt on a free kick and now you can use a tee.

So, every single call that went UT's way over the years was simply ISU being undisciplined or did ISU get screwed over some times???

Um, we're not making up the apology wall thing. It is literal. So when Tech is actually screwed so bad the friggin conference sends an official, our bad we screwed you again letter. Then we can talk. A bitter biased fans opinion means zilch.
