Not only is the Magic gone, but there were some boos on TT's last possession when they got 3 easy offensive rebounds and a layup. Yes, some boos in Hilton folks. That's how bad we are right now. No effort at all. It would take a lot for me to boo, but I can't stand guys standing around and not even trying.

It's almost as if these guys won't play for Prohm. Has he lost them already?

Down 10 at half, at home, to Texas Tech, with 5 seniors starting, with a pre season All American.

That can't be right, can it? This is the Bizarro World, yes?

Still not convinced that we are a good rebounding team like others have said

It's been kind of like this the last few years. We've been great on the defensive boards in the noncon, but don't do as well in conference due to the size and athleticism.

I think we're coached well enough on the boards but don't have the physical ability to really do well against the bigger teams.

Right, CSP has all the off court stuff JP values above anything. Sigh.

I also don't think this is his mess, although he's doing an average job at cleaning it up. JP mistakenly viewed the hire to be all about continuity, but had he paid attention to the impact of Fred being halfway out the door for so long, he should have been looking for a "builder"

I feel like there's blame to go around. You're right that Hoiberg's poor recruiting efforts have caused issues, but this team looks like it has no idea what it even wants to do on offense.

I went to school during the early McDermott years and barely knew Iowa State basketball existed. This must have been what it was like.

Look, all we have to do is adjust our stats. Where are all you stat people now? It's the frigging score!!!

Because we need somebody to force the action? If we just pass the ball around the perimeter all day, nothing is going to happen. We don't have the guy to collapse a defense like we have with Royce, Kane, and Niang. It's so much easier to attack a scrambling defense than it is a set defense, and we don't have the guy that can draw multiple defenders right now.

True...it's driving while there's no other movement either.

Watch Tech. They're driving quite a bit as well...except typically everyone else is moving around and causing the defense to at least respond to something.

ISU is the definition of standing and watching. Maybe Prohm is still only occasionally working on the offense so it's looking OK by late conference season. *jimlad*

I convinced that none of our rebounders ...lol....could get off the bench if Larry Eustacy was coaching this team...

I know 1 thing....Larry would not stand there with his arms folded ...good old Larry would call timeout and start Chewing A**......................

Here nor there
I'd bet that both Diante Garrett and Big Silky would start on this year's team.
As would Scotty and maybe even Jake Anderson. Ejim and Godfrey would be nice to have this year.

Remember how many close games that team lost? I'd say this one will have a similar fate (already 0-2), but lately I'm not sure we're as good as that one.

lol, wut? The "stat people" are the ones saying Iowa State will struggle to make the tournament, it's the eyetest people who insisted that we were better than the advanced stats said.

I mean I'm not going to argue that it's a good plan, but if we aren't going to run any real sets, Monte going off a pick is probably the best we got.

Its a lot easier to watch the games once you've emotionally checked out from expecting them to win. Sad thing to even say but the sooner reality sets in for some the better off they will be.

Yep. We're just so bad at even the fundamentals. It's whatever. Prohm will be here through the end of next season at minimum. Get used to this poor excuse of basketball.
