I fear that Rocco won't improve - has reached his high water mark.
Yes, the oline was horrible, but.....
There are areas where he can and will improve. It's one loss, aided by a questionable game plan and play calling.

As it always is with a loss.

I think we are getting to the point where we kind of who we are. A team that stars really slow, tries to grind out wins in the 4th quarter. Just a really inconsistent offense that really lacks identity.

We do some things well, but those two things I don’t see changing much. It’s just who this team is for whatever reason.

I understand the criticism of the coaching staff and play calling. I am not going to quickly make the mistake many of us had, regarding this coaching staff up until the first part of last year.

We are in good hands. Did any of us really think we were going to go undefeated this year?

I expected to beat an average TTU team with a bad defense at home. I should know better...

How we doing homies? We keeping things together or fully melting down?
I think I'll take a couple days off from CF FB. Don't usually like the quick negativity turnabout.

We are having a very good season. Still some very important games upcoming. That we have a chance to win.

This crew still has a lot to play for. I’m here for wherever the go. Forgive the cross sport analogy, but feel similar to this years ISU fb team as the Royals 2024 season.

A lot of fun. Solid core, punching above their weight, but likely not enough dudes to do the whole thing.

It does feel like, the more I think about it, this is what it is. Good, but not great team that has to find a way to win late. By definition you are only going to win half those really. We just aren’t good enough to put teams away.

I made this same comparison to myself earlier. But that type of team makes it incredibly frustrating because a) you’ve seen what they can be, b) they’ve given you enough hope to think they’re better than they really are, and c) have played themselves into a position to do something really special and instead are probably going to blow it

In reality, ISU might not be that great of a team, but blowing a chance to go 8-0 against a Tech team that’s just not that good is embarassing. Much like when the Royals tied Cleveland for the division lead and then lost 7 straight

And if anyone is wondering, being a Royals and Iowa State fan is a lifetime of pain

Thank goodness it’s over, imo. Now let’s try for a better bowl than Memphis. We were never going to be NC contenders with CMC at the helm. He just can’t put it all together when he needs to, but he’s a great coach for ISU, so let’s go for 10 wins.
The Big 12 title is still there for the taking. This loss only made our margin of error zero. Win out and still in the title game.

I wish I had your optimism. The last two games have been an absolute ****show on how to play football. We are only showing other teams how to beat us unless we change things up. We’ll finish 9-3 imo.

The O-Line has been concerning the last few weeks. Rocco running for his life and not opening up many running lanes. Play calling hasn’t helped either.

Make this simple.

We need to go 4-0.
Then I think we are going to need to be rooting for all teams playing Colorado.

That puts us in 2nd and one game to make the playoffs as a 4 seed

That being said….My issue is I think we are going to go 2-2.
People are giving us fits on offense

The frustrating thing for me is that we COULD be good enough to put teams away. Better play calling and scheming on offense and we are a great team. I don't understand what Campbell is thinking, going conservative and having such a predictable offense. Watch some other teams and what they do and put some of those plays in our playbook. Not that hard to figure out.

offense looked like sh*t against the worst pass defense in the country. I think November is going to get very ugly for us.

So we’ve gone from “I don’t see any losses and we’re going undefeated!” to “going to be hard to win anymore games”

I love this fan base. We could have easily been 5-2 coming into today. Iowa and UCF probably should have been losses. Point is, we play clean football, we are tough to beat. Last two games we’ve turned the ball over and all of a sudden penalties today were really bad.

Back to the margins. Let’s see how they respond.
