These guys are just looking for things to b!tch at. It’s like some people are acting like we just lost our 7th game of the season. We still control our destiny to the playoff. How many times has that happened before?
Not sure if that's totally true, I see the sentiment though.

If Colorado and byu win out, not sure how that tie breaker goes.

Issue is we have 4 very hard games left that are probably all coin tosses, and for whatever reason we play better on the road.

I would say my biggest issue with the defense was 1st and last drive. Bend and broke. Biggest issues were penalties, TOs and offense sucking
Well sure, but holding TTU to 23 and creating a couple short fields with TOs should be a W. That’s a great offense and dog **** defense.

Scoring 22 and turning it over twice against that horrible defense is a disaster.

On another note, there was quite a pileup on I-35 northbound north of Ankeny. Lot of ambulances there. When I was pulling out of B-1, by Scheman, an oldster turned left into the eastbound lanes. White van. I wonder how that mess wound up.

I was looking so forward to the first CFP Show and all the speculation about where an undefeated ISU team would be. Such a kick in the nuts.

That stretch is horrible as it goes down to one lane in a really bad spot, I believe, with construction.

With the KSU loss today, the Cyclone loss stings a little less. Lets finish strong over these last 4 games and dominate.
We have room to improve and get healthy. I agree with CW that the offense looked conservative today. Looking forward to the Kansas game next week.

We "earned" that loss.

Win out is our only shot now
We did. Too many mistakes, not aggressive enough on offense.
Dear basketball team. We are now ready to switch focus
It's one loss. We can still have an excellent season. Need to finish.
I know in the moment people are angry and bitter as I'm too but a bigger picture needs to be looked at to.

We took the field in November as one of 7 undefeated teams remaining.

We have won despite a ton of injuries.

Anyone on this board would of signed up for what we had going into today.

There is still plenty this team can still accomplish that past teams haven't done.
Well said. I couldn't have said it better.

ISU's first lost fumble should be on here.

#3: not even not punching it in, but a fumbled snap and penalty.

You line up and get the ball to Sama again as he was finding a rhythm.
It does seem like they take out the running backs after they have started to get into a rhythm

You’ll get Tyler Moore and Stevo Klotz and like it
And these guys are pretty good players in the right role. But here are the problems:

1. We are playing that package when the down and distance is pass for sure, and is dictating defensive personnel.
2. The number of times on pass plays we play multiple TEs yet leave Tackles without so much as a chip is idiotic.
3. Even when using them as blockers on WR screens lining them out wide, we are losing the advantage of them as better blockers by eliminating the threat of them beating the DB deep.

Guarantee you every DC has some automatics in coverage when they see the heavy personnel packages in spread formations. And they all involve crowding the LOS and box.

TEs are weapons in the passing game because they can also block, and if they can dictate run personnel on defense.

Ahem, we are still having a very good season and have a lot to play for. Don't count this team out.

Until we win a conference championship or two and consistently rank in the top half of the conference in recruiting, we should not be surprised of today's result. It is hard to go 7-0, harder still 8-0 and beyond (undefeated).

Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. It's been fun so far. I have to admit, today's loss was very hard.

KSU losing doesn't change anything

We are going to find out, fairly quickly, how well Mouser can adapt and learn from his mistakes. Some of the sets and calls were perplexing.

Does ISU ever, after hitting a big gainer, get up to the line, and go quickly while the defense is still reeling and disorganized? I see other teams do this. Many times it at least makes the defense burn a time out, especially when the offense is pressing in the red zone.

It really only seems to happen when they go tempo/hurry up like at the end of the 1st half tonight.

Otherwise that lack of urgency on those situations has been really annoying to watch.

I still think we win out, and if we don’t then we didn’t deserve a shot at the conference title anyway. We will be favorites in the remaining games just like tonight. Upsets happen but if you lose two of these last five games as a favorite you don’t deserve it.

Sometimes, but it's only a HB dive
