Ohio is a salty squad. No excuses, we should have figured out a way to beat them, but it will end up not being an embarrassing loss.

And Iowa? jfk, we just always seem to crap the bed. Truly frustrating.

But can’t look back. Two winnable road games coming up. 5-3 would be great for a young squad.

Right now I'd rather have what we have in 3-3 with 2 conference wins instead of 3-3 with 1 conference win.

My thoughts for what they are worth…
1. was a scrappy win tonight. Defense bent a lot, but got the key plays needed.
2. offense showed some alignments I’ve not noticed much before. Seems like adjustments are being made
3. whoever was at corner on the right side sure whiffed on some tackles tonight. Also got burnt on the one touchdown.
4. what happened to our kicking game? Punter was abysmal tonight, missed a long makeable field goal and every kickoff was short.
I like what I see happening and honestly gives me some hope moving forward. Still plan to wear my cyclone nut cup for the next few weeks.

Regarding the kicking. I wonder if the atmosphere was weird.

I don’t think any of the expansion teams have a win against an existing school yet…. We certainly look better and the future looks pretty promising ….
Unless Houston can get past West Virginia on Thursday night, we'll be in prime position to be the first hateful 8 team to go down to an expansion team vs Cincinnati next weekend. 11 Am kick

And honestly Iowa sucks and had we decided to bring about a more aggressive defensive approach from the jump and this latest offense the past couple of games we have a great shot at being 5-1. But can't change the past, so my hope is we have started growth and can finish with at least 3 more wins to get to bowl eligibility and would finish over .500 in conference again.
if there is one thing that is extremely frustrating about Campbell, it is the limited playbook the first couple of games. We made the game so easy for Iowa. We ran basically one running play against Iowa. A delayed hand off zone read, except, there is no read as the back gets the ball every time. The result is the outside linebacker and DE crash in. After Ohio we see more misdirection, the QB keep it at least once a game when they do run zone read, and play action out of more than one type of run look.

5-3 and 4-1 in the B12 would be absolutely insane

With regards to the kick, I think Contreraz pulled it cause TCU was crashing the right side of the line.

Honestly it’s good he just missed it left, because if he angled it more right it was going to be blocked.

So I was wondering this morning, anyone know the Big12’s tiebreaker rules for the CCG? When both ISU and WVU finish with one loss to OU, who goes? Does ISU get credit for beating Texas in a late November snowstorm in Ames? Or does WVU get credit for a better non-conference record?

But I may have drank too much last night, so that may have sparked this train of thought.

I get it, but think those losses were needed in order to make the changes that we did on the offense. Without those losses I honestly think we would be a worse football team right now as I don’t think we would have adapted like we did. Frustrating to lose those games especially the Iowa one, but overall I think it was a positive in the long term.

I find it interesting that TCU and Oklahoma run the hurry up offense consistently throughout the game. I thought hurry up offense was dying? I personally like are slow it down strategy especially after watching when we sucked at hurry up offense in the Rhoads years.

Seems like hurry up is still utilized by teams with good offenses and experienced QB’s. Don’t know why TCU is doing it, but I can understand OU. Maximize the number of snaps so your offense has more opportunities. But it requires the ability of your offense to make decisions without the coaches spoon feeding it. This is what ISU has always lacked.
