Also, maybe someone's already said it, but a huge development to me is that Grill has found his shot in Hilton. Before he seemed to always go off on the road, but could shoot us out of games in Hilton. This year he seems to be finding his way at home. Not sure if the pressure or idea of wanting to please the home crowd got to him a bit, but he definitely seems more comfortable with it now.
I think there is something to home crowd reactions making it harder sometimes in Hilton. I was at a few games last year when Gabe and Grill were missing shots and the anxiety in the building was palpable when the team couldn't score. The crowd was audibly groaning with every miss. That has to get in their heads a little bit. Maybe now that we have some more consistent inside scoring it has taken the pressure of those guys a little.

You no doubt missed it, but back on November 21 I posted what Grill needed to do. He then went and got 31 points and has been following my instructions ever since. No thanks needed, just glad to help.

Any insight into what Lipsey did to get his technical? I just watched the game replay on cyclones.tv and did not see anything physical that he did. Did he say something? Announcers were clueless that even one technical was called let alone offsetting ones.

No idea what he might have done other than receiving a shove in the back for making a good play on the guy.

Don't know if this has been mentioned about the elite espn staff, but at the about 8:00 minute timeout they were talking transfers and flashed up a graphic the indicated Tyrese Hunter transferring from Iowa State to KANSAS!

I noticed Lipsey sat the rest of the half after the T. Wasn't sure if it was because it was his third foul or if TJ was pissed at him, but the offense definitely lagged down the stretch that half because of it

He was called for a foul on the floor, but the St Johns guy kept driving to the basket and Lipsey tried to block the shot and hit the guy in the head. Then the St Johns guy pushed Lipsey.

They called a T on the St Johns guy for the push. Then reviewed the play and called a T on Lipsey for hitting him in the head.

This is one of the BS T's I was talking about. There was nothing malicious about what Lipsey did, he was just playing. It was like the refs always had to call a 2nd T when only 1 was warranted (also see Gabes T).

It was bang bang with the whistle for the foul on the floor.

I had to step away a few times during game and I missed the Lipsey T situation.

I did see the Gabe-related tech. That seemed nitpicky and Gabe didn't initiate ... I wonder if maybe officials were just trying to keep general situation from getting unraveled since each team playing with such intensity, maybe went further than normal.

So if I watch the replay on cyclone.tv, do I get to see the 9 minutes not shown during the espn broadcast?
The 17-2 start part?

I like that we’re taking that page out of the Huggy playbook and force them to call something. Might not always work out but I like keeping pressure on the refs and we’re getting a rep for taking a lot of charges which also helps.
This, except there is a notable exception, ISU plays a gritty hard-working defense, while WVU's defense gives off a "this is what lack of consent looks like" vibe.

both double T's were ********, the reason for the technical was 100% on St Johns but the refs felt they needed to even it up to de-escalate things. When you shove after the whistle and they give the other team a T for no reason it's not really going to deter your behavior.

It was officials not having a backbone to make a call.

They felt two Ta Tas are better than one. Makes sense to me.

I think I remember it ending with the guy actually hitting himself in the head with the ball.
