I had a bad cold right after Christmas and tonight I am starting to get the first flashes of a sore throat. Have started the pre-cold ritual of water, air bourne, and orange juice. Hope to head off this thing.

I had it bad yesterday. Aches, chills, no appetite.. oh wait, maybe it was all the rum punch I had Sat. night. I think I drank a gallon of it. Worst case of brown bottle flu I have had in years!!

I have always found it kind of funny when people say they don't like being sick, because I'm just curious to know who are the individuals who do like being sick.

One benefit from living in the south. Haven't got the slightest bit sick in two "winters".

I think increased colds & other viruses are not so much a product of the cold weather, but the continuously recycled air we breathe in our homes, classrooms & offices. Although I have hayfever issues and pollen is my nemesis, I love being able to throw my windows open in the spring and inhale FRESH air. :)

Airplanes are terrible as well. I haven't been sick this winter and I think the two main reasons are that I got the flu shot and I haven't flown much.

Thankfully I've missed out on the sicknesses for the most part this winter...however, a trip to the childrens' museum on a busy new years eve put me on the schatter for 3 days straight. Lost 7 pounds in 3 day.

My niece must have brought something nasty home last year. Hit my dad so hard it caused an overnight hospital stay for observation, got my sister and my mom pretty good. My mom called me, and her voice was so horrible that if I hadn't seen the caller ID, I would have sworn it was a 2 pk a day smoking frog calling me. She said her throat was so sore it was like swallowing knives. My niece, thank goodness, never got sick. Just a carrier.

I have had strep a couple times and the doctor wants to yank my tonsils. I am over 50 years old, it seems kind of weird. Also, he suggested this three times before but never followed through because I wound up preggers. At least I shouldn't have that issue this time. On the other hand, winter will be over soon, maybe I should just keep those nasty old tonsils.

Hopefully we are all better for the NCAA run.

My job requires me to come in contact with a lot of people daily. I tend to wash my hands a lot and I very rarely get sick. To be honest, I don't think I've been sick in over 2 years.
