This team had every element to be a Final 4 team. Experience and talent throughout the backcourt, did very well in the portal to complement them with a strong frontcourt, a successful core that played together for a few years. I know that they never really got a chance to play together due to lack of health but the chemistry was just off this season. Hard to pinpoint what went wrong but I did not envision the season ending like this even with Gilbert out and Lipsey hobbled, there just wasn't much fight in this dog.

I’m trying to find the good in this and I think it will force TJ to reevaluate. Our seasons seem to follow the same bell curve. What needs to be done to be playing our best in March instead of January? We are accomplishing a lot of great things and we have a very stable program. But I’m over this ceiling and I hope TJ can figure out what’s needed for the next step.

And yet ISU is most remembered for losing to a 15 seed

You can still win conference championships, you cannot remove that stench. Unless you get a 1 seed and lose to a 16
There have been plenty of 2 seeds to fall to 15s now at this point. Even 2 one seeds losing to 16s. Our Hampton loss is ancient history.

Really missed KG's perimeter defense tonight. It probably would not have made a difference in the final outcome, but would have made Misses guards a lot more uncomfortable.
It would’ve helped a little bit. The biggest thing that would’ve made a difference tonight was if Momcilovic could make a couple in the first half we would’ve been in the game before the last 2-3 minutes of the first. He disappeared after such a good round 1 performance. Jefferson also looked like he could’ve been the difference maker in the first five minutes then turned into a turnover machine that also can’t hit two free throws in a row. Everything went Mississippi’s way, and that scumbag of a human being Beard made adjustments perfectly while we didn’t.

perimeter defense and speed/pressure just wasn’t good enough for us. I was worried about it with Lipsey banged up and no Gilbert. Game had to be in the high 60s or low/mid 70s for us. Injuries robbed this team

Agree, this had to be a lower scoring (70ish pts) game for ISU to win. In KC felt that was our best shot of beating BYU as well. But I don't think we had that in our DNA at the end of the year.

This year is kind of tough to take too many learnings. It’s a year of what ifs. What if we stayed healthy all year etc.

Simple, really....couldn't stay healthy at key positions.

If you thought we were anywhere close to Duke, Houston, Auburn or even Alabama before the season even then you need to have a chat with yourself. We had a chance to be up there with some breaks, we had the wrong kind of breaks.
Healthy we had a punchers chance against anyone this season.

They could also be beaten by any team having a hot shooting night.

We were playing very good in March last year. First two years had limited talent, injuries derailed this year.

Everyone is unhappy with this ending to the basketball season, but bringing in football doesn't sound right here at all.

Iowa State football won 11 games and won their bowl game vs Miami. All around great football season, start to finish.
Holy ****. I'm so tired of the pop tart game win. Fake. This is the world some live in. Get ****** real
