big game tonight for the cyclones...we need to get the easier conference wins while we can and need to help build a resume for the NCAA tourney.

Their starters

PG-Keiton Page (seems like he's been there forever)
SG-Markel Brown
SF-LeBryan Nash
PF-Michael Cobbins
C-Philip Jurick

off the bench
-------------------
PG-Cezar Guerrero
SG-Brian Williams
PG-Reger Dowell
SG-Fred Gulley
PF-Marek Soucek

interesting game, couple things stick out.

1) They have a true PG in Keiton Page, how will we defend it? Personally, I'd have Babb play on him, he's their biggest threat and if we let him get hot from deep we could be in some trouble

2) Olukemi is out. Very good news for our chances in this one, a very good driver that gave us lots of problems in the McD era...glad he's not participating.

3) How will we guard Nash? The guy is a turnover machine so if we can force him to do the usual stupid stuff we could take advantage.

4) Okie St. reminds me of the Brackins, Gilstrap, and DG team...not personel wise but talent wise. That team had the talent to beat anyone yet lose to anyone...and also had a bad coach. Similar story to Okie St. They have experienced guards and a couple of very talented posts, but seem to be poorly coached. We need to take advantage of it and with their style of play, I think it gives us a big advantage. Let's not hope they decide to play a rare game of greatness against us. (Similar to the K-St. a couple years ago), that's the only worry I have.

5) They like to go one-on-one alot...sort of similar to our offense.
Wouldn't mind if we played a box and one and have Babb man-to-man on Page as he's their only deep shooting threat.

This is a good matchup for us...similar style of play, sub-par coaching, and rumblings that Ford is gone after this year.

I'm 3-0 when I make predictions on long posts like this. (Rice, A&M, and Texas) looking to make it four in a row.

So when did official threads start requiring four asterisks on each side of the title? :skeptical:

But seriously... We win by 10-15. Let's go State!!

Vegas agrees with your 82-74 prediction..they have us favored by 8. I hope we take out our frustration from our recent missed opportunities and just pound them...I'm a little nervous about seeing Okie states best game tomorrow. If they have any pride, they will come to play after losing by 41 in their last game. I think both teams bring their best stuff and hope our best crushes their best.

this is what worries me also, they don't have much or if anything to lose in this game (maybe their coach but I doubt they're thinking about that). They have little post depth so if Royce can draw quick fouls on them that wouldn't hurt either.

In the games I've seen Oklahoma State play in (SMU, Oklahoma, Stanford) they have really struggled to make shots. I hope that continues tonight and we put a knot on them.

Ford isn't going anywhere. He has 8 years left on his contract at $2M per. Even T Boone wouldn't buy that out.

Two things:

1) I have a bad feeling Keaton Page hits some shots tonight. I think the key will be limiting him.

2) Jurick is a big, true center and a good shot blocker. We struggled to deal with a good shot blocker against Kansas. It will be important for our bigs to move him out of the paint.

I'm pretty sure Dowell and Gulley are no longer with the team. Like Mizzou, they are down to a 7-man rotation with no depth in the paint.

In those cases, its best to run isolation plays for White, let him go one-on-one with Cobbins or Nash and get them into foul trouble (Jurick does that just fine on his own).

I think Babb, Ejim and White will take turns guarding Nash. I would guess Babb will start, and if he gets posted up a double will come from one of the guys guarding Cobbins or Jurick.

Yeah, if they are that short on players, I'd love to see White take it to them until they foul out.

Man these threads get started earlier and earlier every time...

That's the sign of a healthy and optimistic fanbase.

Have to like the Clones tonight. Royce and Co. will be hungry after coming so close against Mizzou and KU. I'm predicting right now a 3 game win streak to build some momentum going into the KU rematch in Hilton.
