Wow. 1 lb and 1/8" from running the table on the measurables
If he can surprise in 40 like Lazard did, some front office is going to reach for him.
Some thought Lazard would run worse than 4.6s and he did 4.55? If Butler tests as it appears and runs faster than Lazard in the low 4.5s, or somehow sneaks into the 4.4s he’ll turn a lot of heads.

Agreed. I think/hope he'll run somewhere in the 4.45-4.5 range and move himself into mid-late first round territory.

Believe Montgomery does the Bench this afternoon. Will be interesting to see how many reps he puts up.

We have to wait for the 40, obviously, but Hakeem's measurables are generally better than Megatron's combine numbers. Of course, Calvin ran a 4.3 at 235 pounds, but Butler is built for TD's.

You can nuke me into outer space for my opinion on this now.

Not sure what to make of that...
Yeah, it's not great but I don't think the scouts will make too big of a deal out of it. They can watch the film of a ton of tackles broken if they question his strength.

I wouldn't sweat it. The key drills where he'll need to perform well are the three cone drill and the forty.

edit: and of course the on-field workout where the prospects will be asked to do actual football things. I expect Montgomery to do really well here. I think he'll surprise some scouts with his pass catching and route running ability. I don't remember ISU asking him to do much more in the passing game beyond screens and as a safety valve. He's probably capable of more.

There was an Oklahoma lineman that did like 14 reps last year and I am pretty sure he was drafted by the third round.

Edit: It was Orlando Brown.

He had a historically poor combine performance. And by the end of the year he was starting and playing well for the Ravens. Can't put too much stock in combine numbers for better or worse.
