Huge Blizzard. 2 inches of snow followed by 36 degree temps and sun. Great to make a crust on the snow so it doesnt blow. They got us all worred about nothing once again and allowed schools in the state to waste yet another day.

Come back here at about 8 pm and let us know how things are doing.
The blizzard will be mostly felt in the country areas, per usual. In town, not so much.
It's not like they get made up at the end of the year or anything.Huge Blizzard. 2 inches of snow followed by 36 degree temps and sun. Great to make a crust on the snow so it doesnt blow. They got us all worred about nothing once again and allowed schools in the state to waste yet another day.

I see what you're getting at. In that case you're right. The only problem is it depends on where you are. Highway 117 wasn't too fun to drive on this afternoon. Some do some dont. Some went of a half day so that doesnt have to be made up. Some went for an hour, so I'm not sure what happens there.
No, that's right. I think we should go to hours instead of days in school though. If the kids are in school for any amount of time than the day is counted in full. At least that's what all the woman in my office have said today. I guess this has changed.
In Ames, if they serve the kids lunch then it basically counts as a school day. I remember one time last year they called school off early, it fell in the middle of the lunch periods so they adjusted them around so everyone got served and it counted as a school day.If the kids are in school for any amount of time than the day is counted in full. I don't know what the hell is going on in Fort Dodge, but I'm just going to guess that they have completely given up on clearing the roads there. I saw essentially no clearing of the roads - even the main ones - 24 hours after the last snow fall. It was absolutely pathetic.

Wind really picked up here in Ames.
Glad I have quarter.
The snow falls hard and don't you know?
The winds of Thor are blowing cold.
