Money. I've been to Arkansas, it is not a destination.
Edit: Oklahoma paid Arkansas St $1.35 million to play at OU. Ohio State paid $1.8 million to Arkansas St.

So Iowa paid Arkansas State for 1 home game.
They are not traveling to Jonesboro.
Are we that much less of a program like Iowa where we have to schedule a home and home with Arkansas State?

I found myself wondering what beating Cincinnati might mean in terms of recruiting Ohio. We haven’t been doing that so much lately—not since Cincy started grabbing the second tier prospects we were after a couple years ago.
Indeed, though we have a current commit from Ohio, it looks there were only a small handful of offers out for that state this recruiting cycle—maybe three?
And the ‘25 class isn’t much better, despite Ohio being a hugely talent rich state.
So I find myself wondering. After this win on the road in Cincy, are we going to start to see more offers going out to ‘25 kids again? Like maybe even shortly?

What does history have to do with it? For Jamie Pollard it's 100% about the money.
They overscheduled for 2017. They needed to drop a game. The Cyclones were more than willing to step in and drop their game at San Jose State.
“ISU was gracious enough to help San Jose State solve the situation,” San Jose State spokesman Lawrence Fan said.
It was a “mutual agreement” between both athletic departments, Fan said, so neither program was forced to pay a buyout.
So instead of traveling to a program that won 17 games between 2012 and 2013, ISU will now host Akron in 2017. Akron last won more than five games in 2005.

Not trying to be a downer, but yes. Yes we are. Our AD is SIGNIFICANTLY less funded compared to Iowa's from both a donation and a TV contact standpoint.
I think we need to raise ticket prices and campus and Ames police needs to ticket more illegal parking.
That will help increase revenue and make up for people that park for free and don’t buy concessions.
Well if you are referring to me I park at a private business so no illegal parking there.
Plus Ames Police ticket revenue would have nothing to do with the University.
They could also write a lot more disorderly conduct tickets during the ensuing riot as well.
