I cannot think of another time when ISU had so many standout true freshmen. O line opened holes to allow these extremely talented RBs to do their thing. It is a blast watching Rocco try to run with Sama on the 59 yd run. He's not as shifty as Brock but that kid can make decisions to alter the game. His arm is not that bad. Another "system" guy...

Dekkers getting busted for gambling was a blessing in disguise. Rocco is alot more mobile and the kid is a gamer, reminds me alot Brock.

Wow, putting Hughes in at QB. Guess they want to protect JJ's 2 free games with 3 left to play.
I also feel like Hughes' skill set might be more useful vs. Texas or K-State than Kohl's. Maybe a little bit of K-State's approach with their QB run game.

At this point, Kohl's roll (barring injury to Rocco) is mop up duty to get some snaps/experience. But Hughes could be given some meaningful snaps on early downs, short yardage or goal line.

I really hope this squad continues to improve over the next couple years. Could be a great team/run. Rocco I would say just continues to get more comfortable. I was pretty excited for Kohl but I imagine he’s going elsewhere during portal season. And I hope he does well wherever he lands.

Down 30 and late start- I think most fan bases would be in exodus mode.

Sleep, booze, get your groove on.... or be a stellar fan? Pretty easy choice for most.
I like to stay to the end most of the time, but we left at the end of the third.
- Cold
- Down 30+
- Had to get up at 8 the next morning with a 45 minute drive.

I watched the last quarter on TV this morning and it was exactly as expected.

There were a fair number of Iowa State fans leaving that we got to talk to on the way to the car. Very humble, saying they had been there too etc.

Kind of like you do when a kid wets his pants and you don't want to humiliate him further.

so people are ok with losing to iowa and ohio

Hate to lose. But calling for the best coach in Iowa State history to be fired when the team struggles in a game and suggesting that the Iowa State Program is rotted. I am sick of those naysayers. Nothing constructive in their criticisms. Win the next 2 games. Then the Big XII Championship.

Had to duck out of the way of Sanders running us over on the first series. We got booted to the stands after I cheered just a little too loud on the BYU sideline.
Was that your wife/girlfriend next to you? She's definitely checking out your a$$. You might have blown it cheering a little too loud!

Ah well. A Cyclone road win is a bigger deal, right?

Yeah second half the chill started to set in, stayed until the end though and caught the band outside the stadium for a bit.

Rocco will probably set some freshman records by the time this season is over. He has 15 passing TDS, which is 10th best overall for all QBs. His 2,100 passing yards is second best for a freshman. And he is doing it on a bowl eligible team.

I didn't do a comprehensive look (just checked the box scores for certain high-scoring games), but I think last night might have been the first game with rushing TDs by three different running backs since this 2011 game against Texas Tech.
I was just thinking last night. Doubtless, none of these guys is as talented as Breece (though 90 or 95% of Breece is still pretty dang good).

The thing is, Eli, Abu and Cartevious make for WAY better depth than (I’m pretty sure) we’ve EVER had. And the only reason I’m not including Carson is that I haven’t seen as many reps from him yet.

And, has AJ been dinged up?

I doubt he gets to 3,000 yards in the next two games and I don't have the stats but the offense is more balanced this year.

His worst games have also been pretty good on the whole.
