This is true (not only mindset, but coaches, roster makeup and other factors). Even so, it seems like such an extreme swing doesn't happen year-to-year with any frequency. I could be completely wrong.

Mixed emotions right now. Thankful this season will very soon come to a merciful end, but depressed already that I have to wait 9 months for these guys to have a chance to redeem themselves.

We should know much sooner than 9 months if it will even be worth tuning in next year.
