He needs to spend the summer in the gym shooting; for an alleged shooter, he's startling bad.
I feel like he rushes his shot too much. maybe he needs to work on getting open and getting his footwork down so he isn't shooting it like there is .3 seconds left.

But we're still stuck with Grill, I assume?
You keep Grill he shows flashes of making shots at times, which obviously is a major flaw of ours but in a perfect world( transfer portal, over achieving freshman) it’s a much more limited role where if he isn’t making them he sits and we don’t miss a beat.

For me it's less his shooting than the fact that it seems he's terrified to have the ball in his hands. Unless he's shooting it off the catch, he just does not seem comfortable. It would help his game a lot if he could dribble-drive even a little bit.

This has been my biggest issue with him as well. His game would be much more complete and our offense would be better if he would at least square up and pose some threat of doing something besides shooting or quickly passing it off on the perimeter as quick as possible, then awkwardly following the pass all hunched over looking like a dog with its tail between its legs.

Yes -- being a shooter is his "main thing" ... I appreciate his hustle and he has occasional sweet passes in transition, and has blocked some shots when opponent had a run-out ... but nobody piles on him for multiple bad shooting nights the way they do other players. I won't name names.

He’s basically a senior at this point. I doubt he’ll change at this point.

There's several guys like that.

You keep Grill and recruit over him. He’s a 5-10 minutes a game type player IMO.

Unless he suddenly decides to make shots when people are cheering him on
There are a few guys, Grill included, that I don't mind sticking around BUT think we've seen enough to know their roles should be smaller next year. That will require both making and filling space with talent from the transfer portal, but I would hope that's already in the works.

Effort isn’t an issue. We need someone to score to pull defenders off Brockington. As soon as Gabe and Grill missed their first few shots, the game was over. It was going to take one of those two getting hot to win.
Effort actually sucked tonight. Tech got every loose ball. We’d turn it over and they had 3 guys ready to clean up a miss and we had 3-4 guys jogging on the other side of half court.

Otz is known as a great recruiter. Will be interesting to see how this offseason plays out.
Need to snag two talented big guys. It's a must if we want to be close to the NCAA discussion next year. If we don't it's a rebuilding year, for sure.

We can win in the tournament. With this team it all depends on who we draw. Most of our losses have been against teams with excellent defense. Teams like Iowa we win because we can score on them.

I'll just add that there's also a need for better guard/wing play on offense, too. Obviously you expect Hunter to improve and that will help, but it looks scary if Brockington leaves at those spots, too, IMO.

TJ will get talent here. He did a great job getting Hunter to recommit, landing Brockington, and he was able to recruit well as an assistant under multiple coaches. My worry is Brockington sounds like he’s a real tone setter and worker in practice. He will really hard to replace in games and as a leader.

Next year might rival our two win year under Prohm. Our starting 5 next year will probably be Hunter, Grill, Walker, King, and Jones. That is a below average mid-major team. Drake will be better.

We lose IB, Gabe, George, and Jaz. TJ will run off Enaruna and Jackson.

The 4 players he has run off (including Hinson and Foster) would be better.

You really just typed "Next year might rival our two win year under Prohm." Wow. Do you not recognize there is a transfer portal, good players coming in, and that Walker more than likely transfers (my opinion on that one)? Step off the ledge....seriously.
