It seems Iowa St's really good defensive efforts come with the offense making at least some shots.

There is very much a correlation between a lack of confidence on offense, and lack of effort of defense.

And it's super hard to just keep grinding against a team that's that much better everywhere to start and has a great night on their own.

Pretty sure that was ISU's worst B12 tourney margin of loss since Cato and Co. got rung up by KU in '97.

Jfc I don’t give a **** if they hit shots or not. There is a reason that we don’t know that they aren’t playing. Even if they would have hit shots we still got smashed. But the amount of ******** people do about the playing time for 2 guys that aren’t that good is mind boggling to me. Tristan is soft and Jackson is marginal for this level of basketball. I’m sure they are good guys and good teammates.
That one guy started 24 games, over 75% the season, and still has more fgs made than the guy that took his minutes and starting spot.

I don’t disagree with anything you said but I think what people find perplexing is why certain guys are getting meaningful minutes only to be banished to the bench for seemingly no reason. Especially when we have a guy out there who couldn’t hit water from a dock and dribbles the ball off his foot half the time. And who is supposedly a defensive stopper but didn’t make the all conference defensive team.
People can second-guess TJ all night long about his coaching decisions, but sometimes there are reasons why a player isn't playing that the public doesn't need to know. Perhaps you could give him the benefit of the doubt and respect his right as the coach to make that call.

I'll hope this is true, because honestly it's the only logical explanation.

Thats the thing. When people talk about talent, he's got the most raw talent of anyone on this roster. Yes it's raw and I don't know what goes on in practice or what expectations aren't being met but good lord. How much worse could it possibly be when you're getting curb stomped and struggling to score 40? Are you really going to drop morale any further.

This is the 4th game we scored less than 45 points. We're 1-2 in the games that followed so far. We got trounced by TCU at home and came back to beat Okie State. Hopefully it can happen again.

He needs to spend the summer in the gym shooting; for an alleged shooter, he's startling awful.
For me it's less his shooting than the fact that it seems he's terrified to have the ball in his hands. Unless he's shooting it off the catch, he just does not seem comfortable. It would help his game a lot if he could dribble-drive even a little bit.

If those 2 weren’t playing recently as an internal suspension/punishment then they shouldn’t have been put in at all for scrub minutes, seemed disrespectful to me honestly.

Jackson and enaruna being a disciplinary thing doesnt really make sense, they played like a total of 20 minutes between the two of them in february and also got in for garbage time. Whatever infraction would have to be pretty bad to sit a whole month, but at the same time not so bad to be dressed and play a handful of minutes.
