Baylor will likely abuse us inside with their bigs, and will destroy us on the boards unless Hogue can get feeling better and him and Ejim both somehow get double digit rebounds both.

I always like our chances in Hilton, but Baylor will definitely provide a huge mismatch for us on the inside. We will have to have a good shooting night to beat them, but that is likely always going to be the case.

They had the same bigs last year and if anything we abused them.....

How'd that huge mismatch work out for them last year? 0-2, some mismatch...

Nate Loenser, I believe, he is a graduate assistant.

Yep, grad assistant. He was a real assistant (or the Director of Ops) with Larry down at Southern Miss. Then he came back to Iowa to coach high school. A good get for a grad assistant for sure.

I think he pitched some for Iowa State in the last year or two that they had baseball.

our team can get tired, and that's not a good thing.

I'll second that. We are not the most well conditioned team you will ever see, that's for sure. Niang always seems winded. Kane does at times also. Melvin too. Naz Long, usually Hogue (when he's not sick), and Edozie are the only ones who seen to always have good energy.

Kane seems like he is playing in an NBA game. He needs to finish those lay ups strong since he was struggling a little down the stretch on free throws. Nice win without Dustin. Hope he gets over the flu quick.

Maybe they will. But more often than not last year, we forced teams to play our way and got the bigs out of games. Now, we don't have quite the threats from 3 this year, so maybe we won't force as many teams to play our way this year. But I think Iowa STate has been small for 3 years and it hasn't quite been the disaster that many predicted (even our own fans).

Good game clones, come back to Hilton strong and ready to play a tough Baylor team. Devise a good game plan and stay focused and energized for this game, do not for a second let your mind wander or you will loose.

At some point we are going to lose and at this point it will probably be an upset. We are going to have to accept that fact.

I can come to terms with this as it will happen in 2014.. December 2014 that is. I get so nervous for the team and the streak every game

Here nor there
Niang is gasssseeeeedddddd.
Yep. Between that and poor play due to avoiding fouls, I am surprised we do not see Edozie for consistent spot minutes. Most coaches will sneak in rest by subbing at least around TV timeouts.
I guess the staff really does not trust him given they did not do this even in non-conference.

With Hogue out, Niang and Kane had to be left in the game longer than they might have otherwise. Can't blame them for being gassed/forcing things at times.
