I'm going to take his class and write an essay on the history of Cycloneeriks posting habits, including both highlights and lowlights and how they can be used as a social commentary.

There have been lowlights?

I don't stalk I'm paying homage to a man who I'm in no way looking through his window right now.

That's what papers are for. If you're citing primary sources on your exam, you're bringing in your notes and sources. We call that cheating.

oooooooo you're the mean guy who makes them write papers during exams? That's terrible. That'll get you the low scores on ratemyprofessor.com. Takes a lot of chili peppers to make up for that when you're researching what class to take.

As a T.A., I'm only mentioned once on that site. I tried to encourage somebody, and it really ticked them off.

I TA'd several times (undergrad TA) and I got written reviews at the end of the semester. One person (who's handwriting I recognized - yeah I know you're not supposed to know who wrote what) complained that I didn't clearly explain the requirements for citing papers and therefore I was a poor TA.

Not only did this person:
a. ignore the very nicely typed document on choosing/citing sources with several examples for reference
b. never submit their paper to me for review/editing as was allowed

they also completely made up sources and research journals. Including one from the university the professor of the class graduated from. Of course that one caught his eye reaaaaaaaal quick. As his university definitely did not publish their own research journal.

Yeah kid, that was all my fault.

So I need someplace to ***** about this, and this seems the perfect place.

My brother-in-law is going to school and working retail, his wife is a nurse at a nursing home, and on top of that, they have a six month old girl. They live in Sioux Falls.

My SIL had Christmas off last year, so she has to work not only Christmas, but the weekend leading up to it. The plan was for them to come down to Des Moines this upcoming weekend to celebrate the family Christmas. My SIL makes sure her weekend is clear, which wasn't that big of a problem. My BIL works it out so that he has this weekend off from his job, which is difficult to do this time of year while working retail. (This was all set up by Thanksgiving, because we knew about this plan at that time)

Fast forward to Tuesday of last week. My MIL calls my husband saying that the time needs to be changed because one of my BIL's professors changed the finals schedule, and he needs to take a final on Saturday. No possibility of him taking it earlier or later. Who the heck makes students take a final on a Saturday? So, my BIL and SIL will be traveling on Saturday, getting into Des Moines around 7:00p, we'll have Christmas (dinner and presents) around 1p on Sunday, and then they have to turn around and leave to get back to Sioux Falls...with a six month old.

Sorry, needed to rant.

that's terrible, SaraV!

I think that Madison makes them do finals Sunday-Sunday or something awful like that.

I'm not on there either. I've had reviews that would make a sailor blush.

the best part about a semester with a terrible professor was getting to do the review. (I have no idea what type you are - beside awesome, obviously)I was always constructively critical - swearing/bashing won't be taken seriously.
