We dropped one spot on kenpom for all the analytics folks out there. Offense stayed and defense dropped a couple spots. Same with Torvik. And if it means anything, tech lost but went up….Metrics help but not everything. Win the damn games.
The game tonight that shot Tech up a bit, even though they lost, was BYU thrashing Kansas. Tech won at BYU earlier in the year, we haven't played BYU yet. That pair of home games against BYU and AZ will be huge metric boosts if we can win them both.

My only real gripe is the unforced turnovers that we continue to accumulate! Doesn’t seem like it was a huge issue earlier in the season. I’m all for a guy trying to make a play, but…most of the careless turnovers are just too bad! Can’t have that happen in the tourney, or, it’s lights out and done. Value each possession!

If as of today, ISU is looking like a soft 2 in the NCAA tournament, I gotta be honest, I'd rather they be a strong 3. Soft 2 gets you put in Auburn or Duke's bracket. Strong 3 keeps you out. Right?

I'll probably get ripped for saying this, but Keshon needs to step it up if ISU is going to go on a run in the tournament. Over the last seven games he has more turnovers (32) than he has either assists (27) or field goals (28). I love his passion and how hard he plays, but he needs to take better care of the ball if he's going to be our primary point guard.

I agree with that. He’s definitely not playing well. He is hitting some outside shots, which is great, but when is the last time we’ve seen him attack the lane and finish like he did so consistently early on? Missing free throws, turning the ball over, I watched him get beat off the dribble multiple times vs CU. I don’t know if it’s injury, fatigue or lack of focus, but he needs to be dialed in and a difference maker for us to make an actual run.

Teams have game planned to specifically take him away. If he forces it, he's going to go through the teeth of the defense and probably turn it over or get a bad shot. To his credit, he's not really forcing the issue all that much. Main problem has been sloppy turnovers. On the positive side, when they try to take him away, it opens up most everything else for us.

It is pretty obvious to me that Keshon does not have the explosiveness he had earlier in the year. His legs may be fatigued or he may be dinged up. I hope he can get his explosiveness back because he is a game changer. He is a competitor and can be a difference maker at the end of games.

He's getting the absolute **** beat out of him on those much more so now than earlier in the season. There was more than one occasion last night where he was drilled hard multiple times before a foul was called.

Confidence is a funny thing in college sports. Have it, and you can play a few levels above where you should. Lose it and you can play a few levels lower.
I think you also just described the funk Gilbert is in right now.

Colorado is stinky doodoo. The only stat you can take from this is the 14 TO's we had. Against this trash team that is not good.

We are on the stretch run and this team is not excuting like a final for team.

The ball movement was better last night and then old habits came out.

Otz talked about again in the presser: instead of making the basic play they basically try to do too much.
