Definitely a selling point proving his coaching ability, but TJ was recruiting Milan (and Omaha) since last summer before ISU had their run. I think Milian's official was in December. If ISU gets his commitment it is on TJ and JR.

Yep, that was never really a question. The coaching side was, and the Sweet Sixteen removed a lot of that doubt.

Milan Momcilovic will announce his college decision on July 16 between Iowa State, Minnesota, Virginia, Michigan State, UCLA, and Louisville.
Houston Wilson from Cavs Corner, the Virginia Rivals site, just put in a Future Cast for Momcilovic to ISU.
Another crystal ball to ISU from a Maryland insider as well. Gave it a high confidence rating.

If Iowa State signs Biliew, Momcilovic and Hamilton in their 2023 class they have a 247 composite ranking of 13, 34 and 110 respectively which averages to a ranking of 52.33
Fran McCaffreys best three recruits EVER in his 12 seasons at Iowa are Woodbury, Koch and Wieskamp which held 247 composite rankings of 46, 51 and 60 respectively which averages to a ranking of 52.33
Woodbury, Koch and Wieskamp are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest ranked recruits in the modern era at Iowa. Tyler Smith is #1 (247 compisite rank of 40) but was a Steve Alford recruit.

I feel like it worked out.
Have to ask. Are we simply waiting on a PG until Freitag in the ‘24 class? I keep feeling like it might be nice to add an elite guy…the way this class has been going.
I wouldn't we'll have a freshman and a sophomore this year so skipping a year makes sense.

There has been some smoke that ISU has at least contacted Trey Green the PG of Link Academy teammate of Billiew. not sure if it is serious interest.

How we go about filling out the ‘23 class is going to be interesting after OB makes his decision. Do you roll the dice on some still unsigned, highly rated kids? Do you plan on hitting the portal hard again? Or do you go after some HS kids that might not necessarily be ready, but could develop into solid 4 year players? Being a college coach right now is not easy.
I think a center from the portal then replace any departures other than the 4 super seniors. Still have one open if a big dog comes calling.
