Here is a 13 minute highlight of the game. Hope we get a shot at Watsons four star teammate in the 2023 class. Love Watsons 3 and D game along with his athleticism.

Not to sound too old, but that looked like an AAU game. Not much team defense being played.

Athleticism, yes......but boy is he in for a rude awakening when he will be asked to play Otz's defense compared to this high school game. Makes you appreciate Tyrese Hunter's coach even more with how he's been able to play decent D.

Agreed, but I don’t think too many high school kids are prepared for TJ‘s defensive system. Hunter definitely was based on his personality and his high school coach. We know Watson has the athletic ability to do so, but let’s just hope he has the work ethic and is coachable. I have a feeling that he is. I think this is going to be an underrated class.

The only instant impact I expect from a freshmen is King.

Most HS kids get that.

That’s true. A couple experienced college guys left by the previous staff struggled with the effort required.

At least with the transfers, TJ prioritized work ethic and willingness to play defense, and I’m guessing he did with high school guys too.

It will be fun to see this staff recruit with this success this spring. Win/losses don’t always matter when recruiting, but it should be easier to find a couple transfers that want to be the next IB.

Watson is actually a very good defender. He fits into Iowa State's defensive scheme very well. This video highlights his defense pretty well. He can guard 1-4 very well.

ISU was a shock for Matt Thomas under Fred. Can you imagine how big a shock it would have been with TJ and Green's defense?

One would hope these kids know what they’re getting into with a coach’s demeanor, style of play, demands, etc. I am a middle aged fan - not a recruit making a life decision - and can gather from watching games on TV, TJs post game interviews, and that C5C series what it would be like playing for him.

Then again, these are kids so who knows.

I think there is a balance with TJ though. I do think he is probably a players coach but he also has certain expectations and he won't be afraid to lay into a player. Watching how he coaches, he had to have had a tough time during the Hoiberg era...

Who would that be? My guess would be #5? Perhaps #11.

11, Prohm offer and Otz been in contact but not sure of re-offer. Might as well tho if not

I know Swain at one point took off all the Prohm offers from the 23 offer page, and added all the Otz offers. So as far as 247 knows there is still an offer on the table.

OK, #11 then. Nice. Who is #5 on Totino-Grace? He looks good also.

Thank you!
