Not going to lie to you but a 6’7 athletic true post sounds a lot like solo.
Payton and Solo are not really the same kind of player athleticism wise. Solo is 255 pounds and Payton is 215 on his best day. Payton is more in the Hogue mold with a splash of Pratt.

Payton makes a lot of sense if he is paired with Xavier Foster. That allows Xavier Foster to step out and take 3 point shots while Payton sticks to the paint for rebounding. Then defensively Foster can be the rim protector.

Solo is a nice player, but his one weakness for being a post player is rebounding.

Freshman year Solo was pretty athletic. He’s gotten less athletic every year since then. Injuries haven’t helped I’m sure. He’s lost so much of his athleticism and it shows with his rebounding numbers.

Yeah, I've always thought Solomon had his ceiling capped by the cumulative injuries he's suffered. I give him all the credit in the world for making it back, but I feel like he peaked late freshman or early/mid-sophomore year before he ended up hurt. He's never quite been exactly the same as that again.

I'm not as much in the know as you are but from the little bit of info I have seen on Williams was that the staff wanted to see more before they would take his commitment, and the interest from both side on Nunn seem like he would be a take.

I hope guys like Melendez, Sallis, Applewhite, and Cardet are seeing the success of Horton tucker and Halliburton. The appeal for ISU is right there. Prohm produces when he has talented point guards with a mix of high level recruits and experienced players/ transfers.

I saw THT started following Sallis on Twitter. Maybe he can help seal the deal for Iowa State.
