was late on Carton, Emarion Ellis and he still hasn’t offered Biliew off the top of my head
Billiew is class of 2023. The other two blew up at the end of their final AAU seasons.
My feeling is this. Most of the guys we don't recruit are basically Iowa Hawkeye kids growing up and would not come here.
Other than Born, I can't think of an in-state player I would want... 
If Prohm thought he could land them and wanted them we know he would have been on them for the jump, Xavier Foster committing showed that is the case. As for Ellis, I wouldn’t have mind getting him, but I think we are recruiting better players than him.

Perfect use of the Pirate... though unfortunately I expect 10 pages on debate on the UNI commit now.
I don't think Prohm is "late" on Iowa players as much as there really arn't many P6 players produced in Iowa. Carton always seemed luke warm at best on ISU and I still suspect the late offer was more to build HS relationships rather than expecting a commitment. Green likely would have been a Clone if not for his dad IMO.
Ellis is a good case but ISU was showing interest, then he jumped early on his first HM offer. Not to blame him UT is a great place to go to school.
Prohm did get Foster, a national recruit, to stay home who fits the system. That should end a a lot of the talk ISU doesnt' recruit Iowa. (if they are worthy recruits)
For better or worse the staff's connections are strong in the south resulting in the identification of talent earlier there. I'd argue it is better considering the number of HM recruits and AAU circuits even if it is more difficult to get a long distance commitment.
We hadn't offered Taylor before the zoom call, but that seems to be how most offers are given out by Steve.
T.DeVries and Sallis are AAU teammates and recently played against Gradey D's team. If we are talking the same game, I agree that T.DeVries is on the same talent level as Sallis and Gradey D based on that game. I will be shocked if Tucker ends up anywhere besides Drake or Creighton if Darian remains at Drake. And if ISU misses the 2021 NCAAs and in need of a new Head Coach, the Darian/Tucker/Sandfort brother package should be at or near the top of the replacement list.

Pretty accurate breakdown. Prohm wants him for some reason. Must feel like he will get minutes
The recent guys kind of contradict this don't they? Other than his own kids, the only highly ranked in state kids Fran has gotten this decade are Weiskamp and Woodbury (lol), basically only one since Prohm has been here. Throw in Foster and the Hawks have missed on more of the in state studs than they've landed. The staff had a good relationship with Foster because they spent 4 years building it, he grew up as Hawkeye as anyone could and came here. It's more about where their recruiting relationships are built, that's not in state. I think in general, its not that big a deal as its only one or two kids tops that are realistic big 12 players but unless they've been told to buzz off, it makes no sense not to have offered Sandfort. He'll play p6 ball. Not offering the other two Waukee kids makes sense due to their family ties and age. It would be really odd to not see Billiew get an offer eventually. We offered Foster as a fr, he was getting about the same type of offers as OB at this time his soph year, so that's a little more puzzling.

From the outside it is a bit odd that ISU made TW's top 5, from the late offer (with little reported contact), not visiting Ames and projected roster construction... I'd guess today he stays in Texas but there must be something that has Wade very intrigued likely Prohm's history of PG development.
Not super up on all of ‘21 recruiting.
What/Who is are priority?
Feel like Sallis is #1, since we’ve been in on him for a long time.Is he teammates with DeVires? If so, thatd be a good combo to get.
